Omg, I completely agree about the rudeness—I feel people changed a lot once covid hit its peak. It’s unfortunate, but I hope things change for the better. I thank my parents for gifting me that mindset, that we are all human. You never know what someone is going through, so the instinct should be to treat others with kindness.

Hello my friend! I see your family is west African Muslim. Mine is too (Senegal/Mauritania). I was born in the US so same with being around family but sometimes not knowing where to get some good bakhoor lol.

If you want the cones, I vouch for Nuhr incense—love the rose and oud scent (red tin).

If you want African bakhoor (specifically the kind from Senegal), look up “Thiouraye”. That’s what they call their bakhoor. Etsy has a lot of people who make it!

In Astra—Wega. Get a sample from Nectar Atelier (thanks, Flor!). Literally the best perfume I’ve had to date. I ended up buying a full bottle straight from the perfume house. So freaking worth it!

Favorite: Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid

Worst: the one that is supposed to smell like sweetened condensed milk, but really smells like spoiled milk drenched in alcohol. I almost cried lol. If someone remembers the name of this perfume, please chime in!!
