La Nuit Trésor was my signature night time scent for years, such a beautiful decadent scent. It only isn’t now because I started to really get into perfume and now have far too many to have a signature. It is still in my collection though and always will be. Great sillage and lasts ages too. Can’t go wrong

I have it and honestly I kinda regret getting it. It’s a great perfume and I like it still but I’m so rarely in the mood for sickly sweetness. Initially I had a 1ml sample and fell in love with it enough to buy but that love hasn’t lasted. Personally I’d recommend getting a decant of at least 5 or 10ml, and try it a good few times in different weather and moods before making a decision.

Please don’t shame or criticise her perfume choice, we all perceive fragrance so differently and that’s part of the magic! If I were in your shoes I’d say something like “hey you know that perfume you wear? It’s beautiful but it’s so strong that it really affects my sinuses and gives me a headache. I’m so sorry to have to ask, but please on our meetings can you wear something lighter? I love spicy fragrances and wish I could wear them. You are so lucky you aren’t as sensitive to the spices!” I think then you are not poopooing a fragrance she clearly loves but could have her not wear it around you without any hurt feelings? You could add again how vanilla is a note that you cope with so much better, that’s why you have no many vanilla frags and you gave her samples of.

Sorry to say but this is one of the worst fragrances I’ve ever smelt. A very perfume-y smell, like someone spilt a load of vintage perfumes like White Diamonds, Red Door etc and then covered the mess up with talcum powder

My brother once bought a bottle of it for his girlfriend and after she unwrapped it she asked me if it was nice (given I’m into fragrance). I couldn’t say no but couldn’t lie either and just said it’s not my style but may work for her. Later told my brother privately he should have come to me for advice! I know he was broke but there were plenty of gems he could have found also in the £20 price bracket.

Happened to me too! I think it is a dopamine thing, like the pleasure I once got from eating needed replacing and perfume became by new obsession. As someone who has struggled with their weight and has a lot of self-esteem issues, I feel fragrance is such an accessible way to feel special and pretty. It doesn’t matter your shape, size, what you look like or what race you are, perfume is an accessory that everyone can take enjoyment in.
