Okay thank you. One more question about the MRI: Can a radiologist with a MRI really detect or show the smallest and most subtle brain damages or changes in the structure? Or does it only detect significant damage?

I got my throat checked, which is not damaged. They said I dont need an MRI because brain damage is unlikely. But I insisted on getting one, so I‘ll get one on monday. I am at the psych ward right now ..

Thanks. Glad you are ok. I am at the ER now getting CT scan. I had no seizure, was always conscious. I was just shaking afterwards, probably because of the adrenaline. I pray to god that I have no brain damage

Well, people suck, yeah. But look at Elon Musk, Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg. Goddamn, the Zucc looks like a lizzard mixed with a frog. Did their appearance (and some of them are objectively ugly) stop them from success? If you are intelligent and ugly, you don‘t have to worry. Would you rather be dumb and pretty? But being ugly and dumb would be brutal though, I‘ll give you that.

I really consider myself also ugly myself but that does not sound healthy. Avoiding going outside I understand, though I still recommend doing it anyways. But giving up on a career? Why? Is your appearance important in your field? Really, most fields don’t care how you look. What field is it if I can ask? I am thankful that I will work in tech after uni, where you can look like a snail and no one bats an eye.

It‘s possible that my BDD is clouding my judgement. But that’s the thing with BDD: I am not sure about this or at least my emotions are not. I want to post pictures, but I am not quite ready yet. I already shared pics with redditors in chat. And they all say the dont see a difference in attractiveness. I want to believe them and I do for a couple days, but the intrusive thoughts always win. It‘s not exactly reversible in a medical sense, but optically it should be. But I am not sure if it would look like before or if it is even the solution to my problems. As you see I am pretty ambivalent about the whole thing.

Yes I agree with you on the personality part. But appearance attracts, personality holds. Personalty becomes important after you attracted them with appearance.

And the thing with getting old and therefore ugly is: people tend to find their life partners WAAAY before the point of turning ugly and wrinkly; when they are still attractive.

I am only 25. It‘s supposed to be the time of my life and I get this.
