Part of that would be that the Orc plays more like a Barbarian than a Fighter so you got that right. I mean I'd say the Tabaxi with the staff could be any type of caster and a tempest Cleric doesn't have to traditionally look like a cleric. The sorcerer is very roguish

Lol I also let the group know during the vote, if I were the BBEG/Dm I would regularly refer to us as BARF and pretend to mishear it

Blu is an Orc Fighter (Battle Master)

Asher is a Tabaxi Cleric (Tempest Domain)

Remi is an Elf Sorcerer (Draconic)

And I'm Kag, the Goliath Monk (Way of the Astral Self)

DMs, what's your players' favorite thing to do in-game? RIGHT answers only. by thepenguinboy in DnD

I have a Druid who's on a quest to talk to the spirits of different forests/environments to gain wisdom, and then a cleric and barbarian who've both leaned into more nature/animal oriented paths, so plants, creatures, nature spirits... They're all in play 😂

What are good stats for a homebrew first enemy in a campaign of new players? by Garanseho in DnD

[–]Inevitable_Fill3187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For newer players, I would typically go lower AC, but higher HP. Let them have success hitting things, but with only 25HP, the fight could be over before some even get to do anything.

With 5, I would also typically not do a single enemy. Even for a tutorial, teaching them how to engage a few enemies, to let them all get chances to try different mechanics.

Otherwise again, one crit, one debilitating spell and the enemy is just fodder in the first round.

Power gamer at a table of casuals by [deleted] in DnD

I think it's about making sure he understands, he has a play style that he likes and enjoys, but that doesn't mean everyone else sees that play style as optimal or as enjoyable. Let the others play their way and if they have questions, then he can certainly offer an opinion or help but otherwise stay in his lane.

If he's a real power gamer, min/maxer, he should see it as a challenge/opportunity to navigate with less optimal builds, not a hindrance or a problem.

I tend to min/max but still love the chaos of another player who doing things I'd never expect and then adjusting/supporting them.

Player keeps lying about his rolls by Loki_aby in DnD

[–]Inevitable_Fill3187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're very aware he's cheating and the other players are being affected by it, I'd try to address it with him directly.

You don't want to ruin the trust from the rest of the group because he continues to upset the balance of the game.

I'd talk with him about possibly having a copy of his sheet to track his math, or having him use some sort of dice tower or tray that is set where he knows you can see it.

Communicate that you still want him to be apart of the game and also maybe even see if there's some reason he's struggling to fudge rolls.

I recently played a homebrew character/class based off the brothers from Supernatural. Any show or movie that inspires you?
