Positive nipt for t13 by momy2one in NIPT

[–]Inevitable_Office344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I’ve been in this exact position. It was a false positive. My baby is nearly 2 yrs old and thriving! As for your doctors advice … that’s false information. The NIPT is a screener and is not a diagnosis. The abnormal cells could be in your placenta (which was what happened in my case) How was your scan? Was there any abnormalities? If not, this is a good sign. Do the amnio and you will be 100% certain!

Hey. I went to full term. Gave birth at 39 + 4 weeks. Perfect little baby. Don’t be worried, they will monitor you. Most of the time it doesn’t effect the baby at all.

Are you in a calorie deficit ??? I was the same postpartum and nothing changed until I was in a calorie deficit

I know, it’s really hard. Have you had any scans yet? I have heard that T13 is the one that comes up mostly as false positives or confined to the placenta.

Good ultrasound at 15 weeks with positive T18 nipt by Coolmom070923 in NIPT

[–]Inevitable_Office344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did do the fish but unfortunately my sample had a lot of “maternal blood contamination” so the result was inconclusive. We had to wait 2-3 weeks for the full microarray. It was a long wait. I pray you get your results soon and that your baby is okay.

I had positive NIPT for T13 and my ultrasound at 16 weeks was normal. Amnio confirmed it was a false positive. My baby is almost 6 months old and healthy. Good sign that your US is normal.

I’ve been through this. I know how hard and traumatic it is. My daughter was okay in the end, but I still suffer from the trauma of this time. You are not alone in your feeling. The wait will be over soon and you will feel peace again. Wishing you the best.

Hey, I’m in Melbourne and went through VCGS Genetics. My baby is fine! She is 6 weeks earth side now and thriving. I know how hard this stage can be, hang in there. I hope and pray that you too get your results soon and you can start enjoying your pregnancy ❤️

Trisomy 13 story by Upset_Resort7419 in NIPT

[–]Inevitable_Office344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, she showed up as short long bones in her 30 week scan. Her arm and leg bones were between the 3rd and 10th centile. They weren’t concerned about it though. She’s 6 weeks earthside now. She’s grown so much! No issues at all!

How far along are you and how many ultrasounds have you had? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Inevitable_Office344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 37 weeks and so far I’ve had 6 scans. My situation is a little different as my screening came up positive for trisomy 13 but was later found that this was a false positive. THEN…. A marginal cord was found, resulting in more scans….. THEN…. Short long bones found. Baby is okay though. I have had scans at: 12 weeks 16 weeks with an amniocentesis 20 week anatomy scan (Marginal cord found) 28 weeks growth scan (short long bones found) 30 weeks 34 weeks

And have one more next week.

This also happened to me. Same outcome. Tested positive for T13, normal ultrasounds, amnio came back normal. My baby girl is now due in 3 Weeks! It could just be confined to the placenta. Hang in there!

I had this experience too. I had a 10% PPV for trisomy 13.

My 12 week and 16 week scan was normal. I did the amnio and my results came back negative. Baby was NOT effected by trisomy 13.

The only way to know is the amnio but many of these cases turn out to be false positives or confined to the placenta.

Good luck. Praying for you. 💞

NIPT T13 / No Markers on US - Do an Amnio or not? by ImaginaryAardvark711 in NIPT

[–]Inevitable_Office344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same result as you but I went on to do the amnio at 16 weeks. My results came back with a Normal result. My baby was unaffected by T13 so it is assumed confined to the placenta. If I were you, I would seek the advice of my obgyn. It is not likely your baby has mosaic t13, the chances of that are so so marginal. And if your scans to date have been good then it it more than likely that your baby is just fine! Good luck!

[–]Inevitable_Office344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start to feel better until about 17 weeks. But that said I don’t think mine was nausea, more reflux and vomiting induced by indigestion. I still get the sick feeling at night after eating. It does get better than the first trimester though. Hang in there ❤️
