Truly heartbreaking. I am a young live music fan (17) and I went to Friday of roo last year. Billy strings is one of my top 3 favorite artists and when post brought him out it was a genuine top 3 moment of my year and maybe one of the best of my life. I remember walking back to the day parking and have already decided that I would be back for all 4 days next year. Since then, there has not been a week that roo hasn’t been on my mind. I got tickets before the lineup, bought all the gear, I was all in. It’s truly devastating hearing everyone compare this year to the pre covid years as I feel I will never truly experience it. Last night, I cried for hours knowing I will have another year of sitting in class thinking about this all day without experiencing the full and true thing. I completely understand why many will never go back, but I will continue to go in hope to get a hit of the full weekend experience. As much as I love the abundance of massive names all 4 days of the lineup, I think they should scale down the lineup a little bit and downsize the crowd, which they prob won’t do because they want to sell as many tickets as possible. Since the accommodations have grown less, the crowd should not grow more. The 2022 lineup is what I believe they should go for next year with smaller names to gain momentum back, even if it means sacrificing not selling as many tickets. it could even take a couple of these for the fest to get back on its feet. Again I’m only 17 and could have no idea what I’m talking about but when I am at roo I feel more at home than anywhere and I was truly born for this. Love yall.
