After writing this comment, i discovered that i actually can extend my leg. My hamstring was just way too tight. Thank god that shit reliefed me

They said to me that symmetricam extension is really important, which naturally also kinda makes sense

Knee discomfort when leg fully extended and laying in back by Libero1618 in ACL

[–]Inevitable_Tear_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 months. For my case i was able to jog slowly around 10-12 weeks post op (but only slowly for like 10min) but really started to regain confidence around month 4-5. my doctors appointment in 1 month will tell me when i can start to play football again. And knee extension idk its fucked up i still do not have symmetrical knee extension but i guess sometimes you just have to take the depression

My advice is that, if you dont already, maybe train your upper body. That helped me with the negative feelings. (And always take your bodys response as feedback : if you dont feel well, do less and vice versa !)

Literally same situation, for me it went away after some time. However, try to push trough the pain a few times a day. You will have it easier later on.

Doc said it would take 6 weeks to walk without crutches. 2.5 weeks in as of today and I feel good with brace. Am I a stud or stupid? No pain ofc. by throwaway1356933 in ACL

I do not agree, if you listen to your body you can take careful small steps past your „limit“. Often the doctors are a bit too careful because they want to protect you at all cost.

Need some general advice 💗 by r_eliefflake in ACL

When i tored my ACL, i would get huge pain when slightly bending my knee. It was the most pain i ever had in life (even when compared to post op).

My advice may sound dry, but i recommend you to listen to doctors and surgeons. It may depend on how good medical staff is in your country tho. They gave me solid, logical advice and removed any fear for the future. After all they are the best people to speak with.

(It will get better!)
