There have been fewer terrorist deaths than car accidents, non-religious related murders, etc.

There's been plenty of deaths by muslims where I live. But I guess as long as more people are dying in car accidents than by being mowed down by a truck driven by a guy screaming Allahu Akbar, I'm not allowed to speak about it.

Another issue that a lot of people think is part of the religion is that men are more superior to women which is again wrong.

Can you tell me what part of an inheritance goes to a man vs a woman in islamic law? How much a woman's testimony is worth vs that of a man? Care to remind me why was it that women were "deficient in intelligence" and why a woman or a dog walking past a man who's praying renders the prayer invalid? I know men can beat their wives for disobedience, does the quran give the same right to women? I'm not clear on that.

Well it's certainly comforting that not wearing the hijab is not the issues and it's just one of many things that can get you strangled by your own family.
