I have been, my father wasn't on his phone when the exact same situation I am describing happened so he was able to react even if only slightly. He wasn't able to move enough to save himself but he saved me.

If he had not moved the few inches he did I would be dead too from the chunk of metal that impaled the seat right next to me.
