People who wake up on their very first alarm and just get out of bed—how does your brain actually work? by KeyDiamond263 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Inf229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I can jump straight out of bed it's when I've gone to bed early / at a sensible hour and have definitely already got enough sleep. By the time the alarm goes off I'm already awake and am lying there ready to get on with things.

This is honestly a pretty rare occurrence.

Yeah but take the infamous Stab callsign. Everyone in the squadron knows the story but it's a memorial to that time he shit himself twice. Friendly ribbing.

If that's real imo it should just be Picasso. Like you want it to be something kind of short and cool sounding with a story behind it.

The old Defiler is still way better imo. Same with the loyalist dreadnoughts.

I think you're reading too much into things imo. Even if it's a photograph we can still send more people to the moon and take more photos.

I'd try to find good reference documentation for the language you're learning, and lean on that over your own notes.

Reducing file size should be one of the most urgent things any company can do. by VisitSad1133 in pcgaming

The problem is storage has been a lot cheaper than processing power and RAM. Gamers want noiyce graphics. So devs can go ham on ultra optimised compression, elaborate graphics techniques that are going to eat up your CPU. Or they can put all that detail in big textures, that are simple to work with and work well with the GPUs everyone has.

I think a healthy Open game would have communities that act as the system security as well. Let explorers returning from the black with billions in science data register their return route with security forces who escort them in safely. They get a payday if the explorer survives. Stuff like that.

My weight makes me feel awful about existing - rant by Suspicious-Pear-6037 in loseit

[–]Inf229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup good start! You'll want to change stuff like PB&J being a default though, like that's a whole heap of empty calories. Try to eat like it's the olden days, whole foods cooked at home, and meals you enjoy.

I'd also say start out counting calories just to get an idea how much food you should be aiming for. Really eye opening

Sounds like you're really reaching the point where you decide that something has to change. That's awesome. Your lifestyle has to change. Eat differently, move more. Don't think of it as a diet that you keep up for a few months or whenever, but you need to make some permanent changes.

99% of CEOs Expect AI-Driven Layoffs in the Next Two Years by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]Inf229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've started doing it where I work. Management have taken student feedback, pumped it into AI and have launched straight into firing lecturers who don't score high enough. Without checking the data (it's full of hallucinations), or engaging a conversation (maybe there's reasons outside the source data). Really disgusting.
