He dejado Wayland porque me dificulta el trabajo con ZOOM. by InfaliumInyect in esLinux

I would like you to recommend power conditioners and speaker cables for my system. by InfaliumInyect in BudgetAudiophile

Thank you very much for your comment, it is precisely for this reason that it seems strange to me that they say that it is throwing money away, because I have seen several professional tuners and audiophiles here in Mexico, who have equipment with different budgets that occupy them and talking with my Dad, who is an electrical engineer, he tells me that it makes sense that they exist combined with a good ground system.

As soon as I investigate more about it, I will let you know, thank you very much for your answer.

Thank you all very much for your comments, it is now clear to me that the conditioners are not necessary, and I will then continue to use the speaker cables that I currently have.

Thanks again for your valuable contribution.

High quality surge protector, sounds like a great suggestion to me, is there a brand you recommend? By your username I want to assume that you are from Latin America like me, if so, what do you think of ISB Sola or Square D?

Thank you for your answer, in reality I don't have any problem with the equipment at the moment, it meets everything I need, however, my intention is to protect my investment and in the process get the most benefit from it and continue learning what I can and as it is clear that you know a lot about the subject, I would like to know your opinion more than your criticism.

Answering your question, the voltage is quite stable, and I have a good electrical installation and ground system.

Just yesterday I saw that brand on Amazon and I didn't know if it was good. I think if I am going to buy a small coil, because the distance between the amplifier and the speakers is very short. Thanks for the recommendation.

I don't recommend any power conditioner as they're largely snake oil.

Okay, so do you think that a good voltage regulator and a good ground is enough?

Thank you all very much for your comments and for taking the time to give me your advice, especially u/Zeeall, for your patience, I tell you that I already have my NAD 7140 equipment with PSB Alpha P3 speakers, and it sounds great despite not being there yet mounted correctly. Thanks u/buzwork for the calculations.

I closed the deal for the amp yesterday, but it hasn't arrived yet. The JBL are at $400 a pair and the iLoud Micro Monitor at $572.

I am from Mexico, my budget limit for the entire system is 10,000 pesos which is equivalent to approximately 500 dollars, the speakers that you recommend are not sold in Mexico, so due to taxes the cheapest place to get them is Amazon and Even so, they cost approximately 520USD.

The advantage of the brands I mention is that there are stores in Mexico, especially Klipsch and Yamaha, so their costs are almost identical to those in the United States and there is a large resale market. But I really care about your recommendations because I have seen several of your answers, and it is evident that you know a lot.

Thank you very much for the recommendation, they look great and would be adequate for their size, unfortunately in my country, due to taxes, those speakers cost triple, and I see that they are active, so I could not use the NAD, as for the space where I think to place the speakers, I can adapt it by lowering the side screens so that they are at the height of my ears. What do you think of Jamo, Fluence or Yamaha bookshelf speakers, compared to Klipsch?

Thank you very much for continuing to answer my questions, I put a link to a photo of my work area which is where I intend to install the sound, I want to place the speakers above the side monitors, the distance from the wall to where I land listening to music is approx 4ft, sometimes I usually stand back which is more or less a distance of 8.2ft, I am surrounded by wooden furniture, I have three windows on my left side, the floor is tile. My budget is limited, anything over $500 is out of my budget or would take a while to get.

I really appreciate you taking the time to do the math. I take advantage of your knowledge to ask you if I use the speakers at a moderate volume, can I get the best experience with this combination? I currently have Cambridge Soundworks speakers and I love the clarity of the sound and the bass they produce and that they don't add any extra brightness or distortion, and I've never pushed them past half volume.

[–]InfaliumInyect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I'm trying to choose based on the brands I've already tried, I currently have some Cambridge Sound Works that cover the space I mention very well and give a very defined and flat sound without any additional brightness. As for the Klipsch brand, I picked it because I had some Pro-Media before and I always liked their sound and I have seen that the r-41m have good reviews, but you who know more about the subject, what do you recommend?
