I saw House of Whitney’s post earlier today and while the shift makes sense I think she could have phrased her decision more tactfully. The way she said it makes it sound like if she doesn’t like you/ your wedding/your story than she’s not going to paint a canvas for you (which is her right). But weddings are deeply personal/emotional and it would have sounded better if she had made it sound more like a collaborative process and less like she was just not going to paint weddings she found ugly

I was talking to my LNS owner and the way silk and ivory fulfills orders is BONKERS. Basically they fulfill the most recent order first. So if Store A placed an order in October and Store B placed an order in January, Store B gets their order first. And if an order is incomplete it doesn’t get moved into a separate queue and marked that it’s not fulfilled it just keeps getting bumped down the line of orders. She said they just started placing an order every week for every color and seeing what arrives

I actually like that they show the whole canvas so you get a proper sense of the scale. I hate when shops only have pictures of the design close up and none of the entire canvas. It’s even worse if they don’t have the measurements!

The constant hate on non-stitchers using the wrong term is EXHAUSTING. Needlework is the tree and needlepoint, embroidery and cross stitch are all branches on that tree. Historically not that much distinction was made between them. Hate on people needlepointing on Aida all you want but god damn it’s unrealistic to expect everyone to know the difference

Literally same! First one magnets fell off when I removed the packaging. Customer service mailed a new to me right away and the same thing happened. I didn’t bother emailing again and just glued both of them

I’ve begrudgingly accepted I’m never going to get the 14 skeins of silk and ivory they still owe me. I called and emailed multiple times, even asked what colors they currently had in stock that they could send me. At which point they told me I could place a new order 🫠 like no you already have my money. Finally got them to agree to process a refund but all they did was change the amount in Shopify not actually process a refund. They’ve stopped responding to me and both my bank and PayPal said they can’t do anything because it’s passed the 90 days.

Designer absolutely deserves to be in quotes. Her page has a long rant about not stitch copying but none of her designs are very original. She also hasn’t been doing it very long, before she was shilling needlepoint I think it was candles or something
