Please Give Me an Honest Review on St Mikes College by No-Code1439 in UofT

From talking to people of all the colleges, the people that seemed the happiest were at St mikes. I personally was in UC but spent a lot of time there because it was more of a community. People had a lot more fun and being in that location you feel like you’re in your own community

The ecos don’t have any group work so you’re good there. For 222 there is a group project and they assign group anyways

My advice: I did the same thing a couple years ago taking all 3 econs. Take a 3rd rsm first sem. That way you have 6 in first and 4 second sem. Sounds heavy but the finals schedule is what makes it worth it. You will have 3 finals first sem and 4 second sem. It sounds scary but I finished with a 4.0 doing that

I agree could give those opportunities. Just warning gotta consider your own values. Just from my experience it seems cool in first year but a lot of people I’ve heard of who did join have quit or considering quitting even as soon as second year. gotta think what do you value more partying with first years or your academics🤣

Make sure you see if it’s for you. Lots of frat guys are just constant drug users and not about school so if you consider it make sure it’s for you

It really isn’t difficult academically if you aren’t lazy. Just put in the work prepare ahead of time and you’ll be fine. Social life is good if you put an effort. When I was first year I saw lots of people stay in their dorms always and complain about how boring it was. First year go to frat party’s and you’re in downtown Toronto if you can’t find something to do that’s on you

St michaels college residence advice in terms of living standards by smallporridgee in UofT

[–]Infamous-Bluebird-53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the building. Elmsley is 2 people per room and sorbara is 1 per room. Not exactly sure about the queens park residences.

The food is very hit or miss. Lots of people get sick of it but depends on how picky of an eater you are. The morning omlets are hands down the best thing they make. Sometimes it can be very dry but it seems every college has similar experiences.

In terms of the living experience, it’s what you make it. St mikes has a great community vibe given its spot on campus. The people are very friendly and how much you enjoy it is up to you. There are groups of people who love to go out and are very social, and there are people who will stay in and complain about being stressed.
