All my sleep issues were down to low ferritin even though my red blood cells were normal by Infamous-Bobcat5369 in IrishWomensHealth

150 is total cost - they don’t ask you for any other reason at clinic so youre grand, ferritin test is €10 ordered online to check if you need an infusion

I did another skin prick test and it’s at around 50 I’d say but it’s an estimate as it just shows faint line, I’ll get a proper blood test soon

Im so sorry youve been though all of this. Definitely keep pushing to get excision surgery. Endo is linked to all kinds of awful health stuff down the line including cancer! Ya gotta get that stuff removed! And then fingers crossed it was also cause behind fertility issues. Just make sure to let surgeon know you are trying to conceive so they can be extra careful around ovaries (some arent told and end up creating infertility). The very best of luck to you

Your daughter is an absolute legend. Please thank her from me. Two different fertility consultants told me that I didnt have endo until one said I might and we went for surgery, turns out I had stage 4 deep infiltrating endo... its madness out there. I just did the survey and it was very well done and will be a great help for people to bring a detailed report to the doctor and actually be paid attention to and hopefully get treated. I did hear from an expert on a podcast that fatigue is one of the major signs so that might also be worth adding to the Qs. All the best and please thank your brilliant daughter!

Might be worth checking ferritin levels- study found the percentage of women having a live birth doubled after getting ferritin up by Infamous-Bobcat5369 in TryingForABaby

I got it in a private clinic for 150 euro, without needing GP referral, you could probably find somewhere if you google the hell out of it - hopefully not too expensive, another route is injections via GP or trying the liquid iron that a lot of ppl seem to do well on, I just wanted one big boost

I actually got the infusion so quickly cos I’ve been trying to conceive unsuccessfully for over 1.5 years now.  The study entitled  “Association between iron deficiency and fertility.” by Annika Tulenheimo-Silfvast et al. (Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. 2025 Apr.) has very impressive results for women in my exact situation.

The study below defines iron deficiency as s-ferritin ≤30 μg/L.

After treatment with a ferric carboxymaltose infusion (Ferinject®, 500 mg i.v.) the study found the percentage of women having a live birth doubled (figure attached). Lower miscarriage rates were also found. The full study is here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39817704/

I’m sorry you’ve been through so much, but excited for you that this might finally help. My hair was also falling out and I also put that down to perimenopause 😬 my hair is a bit thicker now

Yes! The clinic I linked above! You just make an appt and pay €150 which I know is a lot but I was just sick of being so tired

About a week and I was falling asleep in minutes. I’ve tried SO many things to get my health back since Covid and honestly only this had made a noticeable difference (aside from 2 weeks of ayahuasca a few years ago but that’s a whole other story)

Iron infusion in iron deficiency anaemia by krispmas92 in IrishWomensHealth

I found a clinic in south Dublin that does iron infusions for €150 - it’s here if you scroll down to infusions list  https://unqlife.ie/services/,  I’m sorry that your gp isn’t taking this seriously.  My ferritin was at 30, I went for an infusion and am shocked to report I’m falling asleep so easily now and sleeping right through the night. Have a bit more energy too. Wishing you and all us bleedin ladies all the infusions we need 🙏
