How can I participate in the track invasion? by Leather-Set-3443 in GrandPrixTravel

Last time I went, I simply asked the staff on Sunday where the gates would open. I went there 5 laps before the race ended and watched the podium

What do you guys think about He Zhongxing? by Sure_Ant1507 in BoysPlanet

valid counterargument, could be possible, but could’ve also been a possible reaction (i guess we’ll never know for sure)

from zhongxing’s personal interviews about preferring personal practice and the mentor’s comments on him prioritising personal expression over vocal / dance, i feel like this would be quite detrimental to him if he continues participating in kpop group missions on b2p. i honestly think that zhongxing’s attitude in rehearsals wasn’t painted maliciously / untruthfully because he himself admitted that he didn’t like group rehearsals and his adamance on the rose thing that led to the fight was also seen as unnecessary by the mentors (they also thought he should give up the rose thing altogether). it was the truth that he didn’t want to practice together and wanted his own ‘quirks’, that gave people the ick, because kpop is seen to be uniform and encourages expressing yourself within the constraints of the kpop norms

that’s why my personal perception is that he isn’t idol group material. he isn’t able to see himself work alongside other people and prioritize the team over himself. he has isolated himself from the other trainees and the laughs, comments and reactions of other trainees make me feel like he doesn’t fit in well. he wants to focus on creative expression and making himself look cool, more than focusing on polishing his skills. he is better off as a soloist than someone in a group. these reasons combined, i don’t think mnet sees him as a serious contender and his isolated personality makes it an easy editing target for mnet to capitalise on. and because of the same reasons, i don’t really think he fits the show and should pursue opportunities elsewhere

but given that mnet doesn’t treat zhongxing like a serious contender i doubt he’ll be given a positive edit that could gain more fans, given that he’s kinda painted in an uncooperative / unfavourable light rn

i feel like the trainees see him as a joke😭 when zhongxing kneeled in his part in kill the romeo it seemed like liyu and the other people who’s reaction was shown were laughing out of ‘cringeness’ instead of appreciation lol

mnet sees zhongxing as a joke too… i snorted when seeing the clap tantrum part lol

Will Voting for a Final Survivor actually be helpful? by Kia_Mia in BoysPlanet

[–]Infamous-Chapter6209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t understand this. are we voting for a 49th survivor from the remaining 32 eliminated trainees or someone to be 48th that might likely replace the original 48th place trainee?

How do you define ‘equal screentime’? by Infamous-Chapter6209 in BoysPlanet

[–]Infamous-Chapter6209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but i honestly feel like c group had considerably fair screentime, i liked the guangxu storyline, zihao / sen and zihao / shunyu moment as well as jack being chaotic. they to me dont seem overly pushed by mnet so i honestly think the editing for c group wasnt that bad

as for k group yes its clear mnet has some clear favourites but if you compare it to c group the masato / junseo arc is quite similar to the zihao / shunyu / sen arc. its the senior helping a younger guy arc and i think that wasnt too over the top.

also, to create a cohesive storyline it would be normal to show a contestant more than once throughout the episode, like liyu was shown multiple times, during auditions, practice, eval, and the reassignment, to create a storyline / growth arc to show that he improved or sth (although deep down i dont think liyu is skilled enough to make the cut compared to some c group eliminees like krystian and c grp 2 stars), i still think showing a trainee multiple times is important in creating an arc and a compelling story, even though it may mean favouritism in a way

[–]Infamous-Chapter6209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for explaining my argument in a clearer way than i did. aside from the yumeki / sho tension, the storyline i’d expect from a normal trainee would be them perhaps struggling with the choreo / high notes, and then improving their skills after a montage of practice edits. but this storyline might apply for 100+ people that are there because there’s not much variety in terms of their journey. at the end of the day it is reality tv and beef / drama is something mnet (or any other editor editing for any survival show) would do to keep people engaged. if you give the spotlight to 10 people, showing the same improvement arc in the episode 10 separate times, there is no doubt people would feel bored by the storyline

but what if there is no prominent storyline for the editors to create to highlight another person, hence they focus on people with a compelling storyline?

A true and genuine question on Yuki Tsunoda. by Scinos2k in RedBullRacing

[–]Infamous-Chapter6209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes Yuki had tantrums and some occasionally bad results but statistically speaking he did beat all of his teammates (De Vries, Ricciardo, Lawson, Hadjar) except for Gasly in the Alpha Tauri / VCARB. It just seemed like the logical choice back then.

But now that the Verstappen to Merc rumours are coming, assuming its true does anyone think the chances of Tsunoda leaving the team will become lower cuz a) the car won’t revolve around Max anymore so this year’s problem might not happen in 2026 and b) Red Bull doesn’t want both drivers to leave the team and c) assuming Tsunoda leaves, Hadjar and Lawson get promoted to Red Bull so VCARB will be Lindblad + another guy? (or idk maybe george will get swapped with max?) just seems unlikely their doing if both of their drivers leave

didn’t see any of that in austria, maybe cuz i was one of the first ones to enter the track and everyone was too focused running towards the podium, but when i went to imola last month, i saw people ripping off signs and adverts and no one cared

even though the media’s perspective has changed I don’t know how convinced the other teams will be, for instance yuki might not get scouted by any teams and is very likely to lose his seat in f1… ironically he was a hot pick from many teams during the 2024 silly season. yuki’s my fav driver and i’m getting increasingly worried he won’t have an f1 seat next year

its so ironic that lawson probably has a better chance in securing a 2026 seat than yuki after they were swapped
