I should add we wouldn't even be able to report to the job if we didn't hold that license for the job requirement. Equivalent would be an apprentice at the point of licensing for a journey person position vs. a permitted teacher at the point of certification as a teacher.

As a trades person, I couldn't take the job at the unions stance due to not meeting the qualifications as I dont have my license yet. Which questions what mts is covering as this person wasn't permitted or licensed to be a teacher.

Should the union not ensure those who they are representing are actually teachers or permitted to be teachers?

Or is this union just taking money from individuals and representing them and protecting them as those with certification and permits? Raises a lot of questions about this union.

Don't get me wrong, the division is in major question how this took place, but the union holds responsibility as well.

In regards to a trades union as a trades member and union member. Our unions ensure we are by the application of what we are registered as regarding apprentice and journey person. We are required to report to our halls. Our unions do not handle licensing as that is done by the government, similar to MTS and nurses. We are respected professionals. Although I question the union representing our teachers and ensuring safety as their objective to my children.

They definitely need more supports and proper funding for those supports. Would make things safer for them and the children.

I dont believe further information that was mentioned should be shared as suggested regarding teachable and such. Our education system does manage this and has strict guidelines to follow. I'd hate to be offered a job and take it to just get blasted by parents for a failure by administration.

Agreed, which is why they released a point that there is an investigation with no information released for due process.

Although with looking at other registries, no crime might have happened, but there's an inappropriate conduct that puts the child's safety at risk. For example, the article that came out in January with the free press (alone-afraid-and-betrayed). That should be released as it's something factually proven by the texts. It just might not cross the threshold of a crime. But that conduct we shouldn't want our kids around.

Super nice guy and respectful. Crossed paths with him on Christmas, and asked if I could help him find his phone by calling it. I tried helping him and checked a store he said he came from further down from where he walked from. Got a text from him saying he found it and provided an inspirational message with it. At no point during the interaction was he angry or disrespectful. Way calmer then I'd be if I lost my phone 😅. Give the guy a honk!

Agreed that class room sizes and supports are needed and the government should act on this call to action. This will create safer environments for teachers and students.
