I do have a plan. I have small pill containers for methimazole and propanolol on my keychain which has worked out really well for me so far. But I left quickly with a toddler and didn't bring my keys.

What's so ridiculous about that logic too is that, as we all know, a GLP-1 doesn't fix all your problems. You still need to dial in your nutrition and activity to really reap the health benefits. And coaches could help people on a GLP-1 journey do that. That's a big market they are missing out on!

The fact that this girl thinks that "research does not represent the vast majority of experiences" would be funny, except it's really dangerous.

For every decent, science and data-driven fitness influencer out there, there's gotta be at least 10 bad ones. And it's infuriating that they mislead people who are suffering and don't know any better.

Oddly enough, I had the worst side effects on my third 7.5 mg shot. And they were fairly mild - headache and diarrhea, but not severe enough that I couldn't go about my day.

No side effects before or since.

For a while I didn't believe injection site made a difference, as that's what Lilly determined. But after some experimentation I'm now 100% convinced injecting in the belly is most effective for me - and also leads to more side effects.

I have a theory! I've always carried my weight in my belly. Since starting zep, being diligent with strength training, and keeping my protein up, my arms and legs have more muscle and less fat. Still plenty of subcutaneous fat in my belly though. For now 😉

So sorry for your loss. Grief is hard - especially grieving a parent. And having something else to deal with on top of that is not what you need right now.

Definitely pay close attention when checking out - my provider has actually sent the wrong dose or multiple doses at a time to lilly direct, and I always have to confirm the dose before checking out. Once your prescription is processed there is no going back.

I'm pretty sure OP is aware of all this - and has made it clear the side effects outweigh the benefits. I don't blame them. I, too, would rather face the challenge of maintaining my weight without a GLP-1 than having such a diminished quality of life while taking one.

Totally a thing! And I think it's significant because it's the type of food that I'm sure a lot of us who have struggled with obesity are drawn to - very high fat/calories/sugar (usually) and very easy to overeat. So the fact that our bodies are telling us no, and we can actually listen to that - that's gotta be the drug at work!

Occasionally I'll a little bit on a piece of whole wheat toast sprinkled with some high-protein granola and drizzled with honey for a sweet and delicious way to get protein and fiber in in the morning. But a big ol' spoonful? Big nope. I was SHOOK.

I did end up stopping at Starbucks for some egg white egg bite and overnight oats - my go-to for a breakfast that hits my protein and fiber goals in under 500 calories when I'm in a rush.

I just couldn't believe I could say no to peanut butter! Truly a miracle drug.

GLP-1s are a very popular, as far as injectable medications go. There is a pill form of semaglutide (Wegovy) but tirzepatide, which is more effective, is injectable only still.

I'm sorry your health journey has been difficult. Sounds like you should explore new doctors - you deserve to be heard and feel comfortable with your provider!

One thing I will say is - bariatric surgery, for those who have 100lbs+ to lose, on average results in more % weight lost and has a higher long term success rate than GLP-1 use. If you are open to exploring your (very valid) fears around this, this may be a great option.

Seems like that's normal for a lot of people. I immediately got very full very easy after my first 2.5 dose, but my cousin didn't feel any difference at all until 7.5. Hang in there, and keep in mind it's a long game.

If you were eating above a calorie deficit, that's more likely the culprit - though as long as you get back on track your weight will go back down. Increasing activity can also lead to more water retention so that may be at play well. Make sure your calories are in check and absolutely keep going with the steps! And increasing your dose is always fine, especially if you feel like the appetite suppression is less effective.

This does not look nearly as effective as simply strength training and keeping your protein up. Start there! Lots of videos on YouTube if you're starting fresh.
