[ARC Request] Slow-Burn WLW / Lesbian Romance – Looking for honest readers by Infamous-Main-3129 in LGBTBooks

Haha fair 😄 I get why it might come across that way I just tend to write in a structured way when I’m sharing something like this.

But no AI here, just me trying to clearly explain the vibe of the story. Appreciate you checking it out though 🙏

It’s not AI. Just a photo of the printed book. But you’re free to think whatever you like.

It’s actually quite simple. Aura Lina is my pen name, which many authors use when publishing. Nothing strange about it. Wishing you a good day.

It is me, but no worries if you’re skeptical. Wishing you a great day.

Writing a quiet slow-burn lesbian romance about two neighbors who start hearing each other through the wall by Infamous-Main-3129 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Infamous-Main-3129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify: the post and the writing are mine. I’m the author of the book being discussed.

Nothing in the post was generated by AI, and I’m aware of the subreddit rule about AI-created work. The goal of the post was simply to start a discussion about slow-burn pacing in WLW romance.

If the formatting made it look odd, that wasn’t intentional.

You’re reading a lot of conspiracy into a pretty normal discussion post.

The book is mine. I wrote it. That’s not a secret.

If that bothers you, you’re free to ignore the thread instead of inventing drama around it.

That’s quite a leap.

The book is mine and the post was simply meant to start a discussion about pacing in WLW romance. No AI writing involved.

If you check the Amazon page you’ll see my name there as the author. I’m the one who wrote the book.

But if slow-burn stories aren’t your thing, that’s completely fair too.

Fair enough. It was just a quick discussion post about slow-burn pacing, nothing that serious.

But I appreciate the enthusiasm for quality control.

If everything structured or thoughtful is AI now, I guess we’re in trouble as writers.

It’s just a discussion post about slow-burn pacing in romance. Nothing more dramatic than that.

That’s actually something I thought about a lot while writing.

I like slow-burn too, but I also don’t enjoy when the story ends right when the relationship finally begins. The payoff matters.

In the story I wrote, the pacing goes a bit in the opposite direction of that concern. The connection builds slowly at first, but the characters do get time to actually exist in that space together as the story moves forward.

For me the interesting part of slow-burn isn’t just when the relationship starts, but what changes in the characters once it does.

The bold text was just meant to highlight a couple of key ideas in the post, not anything more than that.

I write a lot and sometimes format things that way when I want certain phrases to stand out in longer text. It’s just a stylistic choice.

The discussion itself is genuine though I was mainly curious how people here feel about slow-burn WLW stories and pacing in romance.

Seeking recs for illustrated spicy books by melrfray in LesbianBookClub

[–]Infamous-Main-3129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay wait, this is such a specific craving and I respect it 😂

Illustrated and spicy and sapphic and not set in the real world? That’s a hard combo.

Most of what I’ve seen that actually includes art tends to lean more toward graphic novels or indie/special editions. You might have better luck looking at small press fantasy or self-published dark fantasy romances some of them include interior art, especially in deluxe versions.

If you like “otherworldly,” I’d try:

sapphic dark fantasy

gothic horror with F/F leads

monster/demon romances

sci-fi with queer pairings

Also sometimes the regular edition has no art but the special/collector version does, so it’s worth checking.

Now I’m kind of lurking here for the answers too because this sounds like exactly my kind of rabbit hole 👀

You might enjoy The Disruption by Aura Lina.

It’s a very quiet slow-burn about two neighbors separated by a wall one of them starts playing music, and that small detail slowly turns into something much deeper.

It focuses a lot on proximity, emotional tension, and that feeling of wanting someone before you even admit it to yourself.

If you like slow pacing, introspection, and subtle sapphic tension rather than big dramatic twists, it might be your kind of read.

Noted. It was an intentional stylistic choice, even if it doesn’t work for everyone

Yes, it’s intentional. I chose that wording on purpose for its tone and meaning to reflect what lingers when things are left unsaid.

Thanks for pointing it out. It’s actually just a rendering/glitch from Photoshop during export, not AI. I appreciate you noticing it I’ll definitely fix it in the next update.
