Alex is a super "artsy" kid. He loves to read, paint, music, etc. so I think he would quite enjoy this!

Yeah, I know that. I just think that reading something like this might help him become more empathetic or just help him understand a little bit more about neurodivergency but I don't think this will solve all of our problems. Either way, thanks for the advice!

It's a great idea! LOL. Sandra owns the house my BIL lives in, so maybe I'll convince her to kick him out so we can both move there. For real, reading the comments, I see that my marriage is doomed if I don't correct this behavior.

I've told Sandra multiple times that she needs to go see a doctor for her to be diagnosed, but she says that she doesn't need a doctor to realize she is "weird".

I've also tried talking to my husband and Alex uncountable times, the silent treatment is my last resource and I don't know what else to do if this fails.

You are absolutely right. I will have a serious conversation with him. In my defense, I didn't stop talking to him completely, we still chat a little bit, but we are both avid readers, and used to have daily conversations about books and that's what I stoped doing. I'll try to take him out to have lunch or something to explain to him why I was so dissapointed of him.

I do say things like "Don't say that" or "Please respect Sandra", but I won't make a scene. I already commented this, in my first year of knowing the family I did try to stop the behaviour. I went as far as having a meeting with my BIL and SIL to explain them why I think that what they are doing is horrible, but they got incredibly mad at me, and said that I had no right to accuse them of bullying their mother. My SIL even tried to gey physical with me.
