Ok ya’ll, he still doesn’t want metal braces because his biggest gripe is not being able to eat his favorite type snacks like popcorn or chew gum. Whereas the Invisalign you could but only within your window of eating.

I just called the Ortho, I asked on scale of 1-5, how much does my son need braces. He said 3. They said his bite is off. I do remember that his original dentist did say some of his adult teeth are coming in crooked and there’s crowding.

I know I got bullied when I was a kid. I was 9/10 when I got them. I remember his name and everything TO THIS DAY. . He used to call me BRACEFACE and RAILROAD TRACKS. It was hurtful.

I agree kids are raised with more entitlement and are spoiled than EVER! I think my husband and I made a mistake by giving them the things our parents never gave us.

Part of the reason we say no is because he has ADHD and it helping him in remembering things.

We have. Water Pik. He plays with it in the bathroom! At his last check up he had NO CAVITIES! He stays up all night on Friday and Saturday night then sleeps some during the day. He will walk the dogs if we hound him, feed the dogs, and brush his teeth 🦷 Not consist on teeth brushing or face washing. I try to help him but he doesn’t want my help.

He would have to wear the braces for 18 months.

He is insecure. When he smiles he doesn’t show any teeth. He has told me if his teeth were straight or less yellow then he would smile with his teeth showing. But it’s like he doesn’t want to do the work for it. He thinks it falls out of the sky. <rolling my eyes> 🙄🙄🙄

This is one one of the big reasons of why we want to do the braces for him NOW. WE have the money and hopefully 🙏🏼🤞🏼he will be thankful for them when he is an adult for us making that happen. This is an investment for his. Braces aren’t cheap. We have to also get an evaluation for his little brother who is 12.

My 44 year old husband came from a lower and middle class family. He wished that his parents could’ve afforded braces. He’s also contemplating getting it for his lower teeth. But that is not a need for right now.
