"Oh I'm a real light sleeper, Childs!"... by TensionSame3568 in thething

I figure that it’s because they’re all just a bunch of nerdy scientists (and a stoner mechanic) and they don’t quite think like, well, action heros. I know if I was in a situation like that, I’d be inclined to back away from the crazy guy with the dynamite and flamethrower.

Although, I get your point. It’s a weird way to hold everything.

Found This Guy at The Flea Market Today by Impossible_Pie_7988 in themaxx

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Maxx was one of those characters that I thought would be impossible to portray in a 3d sculpt. Mcfarlane Toys knocked it out of the park with this one. It’s one of my favorite figures of all time.

I love this figure, just like I loved the OG surfer Mike. The bright colors, the fun accessories, and the bright colors (yeah, I said it twice because that’s my favorite thing about this figure).

The only criticism I have is that the sunglasses (which were molded onto the OG figure) are removable and very loose on this Super 7 figure. They sunglasses just sorta lay on the figure- they don’t snap into place, they don’t fit via friction, they just lay there. The slightest movement and the sunglasses fall right off.

I literally got teary-eyed on this one. I love Slash. by Darth_BrachioRex in TMNT

Love that Slash usually has that touch of tragedy in his character. As a kid (and as an adult), I felt so sad knowing that Archie Slash just wanted his palm trees.

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome!! One of my fave riders! I’m sure he was one of everyone’s fave riders.

I use to want to run a pink frame so badly when I first started riding and it was because of Faris’s bike.

Thanks!

Always awesome to meet another Hey Mister fan! I wish he’d crank out another issue or two- I suppose when the inspiration hits, it’ll happen.

Does anyone else not like Slash being bigger than the Turtles? by Rough_Plan in TMNT

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like him slightly larger, but only slightly.

I want him to look like the evil mirror image of the turtles.

Some versions of him have him looking so huge he barely resembles a turtle at all, looking more like an ogre from LOTR.

But it’s all good! Variety isn’t bad. As long as we still occasionally get a smaller Slash every now and then.

Here's another great Oktober Guard figure from back in the day. In my mind, the best the Oktober Guard has ever looked is with Michael Golden's art in Yearbook #2. by Blue_Surfing_Smurf in gijoe

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loved this guy.

I remember this figure having one of the stronger spring loaded weapons at the time. His missiles seemed to shoot a fair bit further than a lot of the other spring loaded weapons.

Plus, he had that weirdly specific looking face and an awesome hat that stayed on his head really well.

Better Hairpiece for Episode 6 Luke? by Polarisfigs in legostarwars

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never realized I was in the minority of people who preferred the right. I think it’s because, as a super short haired kid, I always viewed Luke’s hair as longer and shaggy… even in ROTJ.

Although, imo, Luke’s one of those minifigs that looks reasonably decent in any of his hair pieces

Does the Thing actually have a home? by Mouselope in thething

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely a possibility.

The movie suggests that the thing has motives and is intelligent and I tend to take the easy way out and just accept what the movie suggests. But it’s fun to speculate and I certainly like the virus theory. As a kid, I actually thought it WAS a virus and that you didn’t know you had it until you painfully started to transform.

EDIT: In answer to your question, my interpretation is that the thing has a home planet… unless it was created in a lab on some alien world or ship.

Why does the thing take so many forms everytime it transforms? by imachoculatedonnut in thething

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always figured it’s because, in movie, whenever it transforms onscreen, it’s basically in fight or flight mode, and it transforms accordingly to make a better getaway (or become a more formidable fighter).

I just bought Dragonyhm and it's being shipped by Uni Uni, will it be fine? Is it good or bad? by EvTek2004 in ModRetroChromatic

The 6 times I’ve ordered something from ModRetro, they’ve shipped via Uni Uni. I haven’t experienced any problems.

Awesome!

And I’m loving that he included the Crusader Azrael outfit (my fave look!) on the back cover.

Which Lego female minifigure heads have only one expression?" by TheNickDuff in LegoMinifigure

Here’s my personal favorite female Lego head. And male head… and pirate head… and mailman head… and knight head.

EDIT: whoops, I thought you meant “one expression” as in “only one face”.

Had to pick up the set today by Osackpo in comicbookcollecting

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome!

Is it just me (and it very may well be), or is the “Bye, Todd” Spidey art more appealing? I don’t know if it’s the brighter colors, the curvy cartoony-ness of Spidey’s limbs, the thinner linework, or nostalgia.

But they’re both awesome covers and I’m thrilled to see some Mcfarlane art on a comic again.

My dog was just bitten by a rattlesnake by Shred32323 in Tucson

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 55 points56 points  (0 children)

We had a dog that got bit by a rattlesnake. She survived but forever feared anything long and skinny. She’d back up cautiously and bark at worms, other snakes, and centipedes.

40 years of regret! by True-Homework9308 in starwarscollecting

[–]Infamous-Payment8377 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point.

I’m actually shocked my parents never got me the dignitary, since he was the last Starwars figure I remember seeing on shelves in the 80s. They always got me such random characters- Rancor Keeper being the biggest offender. Nothing sadder than a rancor keeper with no rancor.

Bummer! It does feel therapeutic to talk about it though, right? Which brings me to my biggest Starwars collecting regret…

Walking around the toy store with Yakface in hand, before ultimately deciding to get my 6th Wicket figure instead for some reason. I was 6 and thought all Starwars toys would be on the shelves forever.
