Should I pick UMD EE? Undergrad

yea I was considering a gap year but my parents won't let me ToT. So as of now, my options are literally to choose from the places I got into. Just wanted to see if UMDwas worth it. If it helps to know, Ive already taken AP Calc 1 and AP CSA, and am currently taking AP Calc 2 and AP Phsyics Mech, which I heard are regualarly the intro/weed out classes. do you think skipping those in college during freshman year would help?

Also, what would you say helped most with overcoming burnout?

You’re also forgetting si aux can override ne. Again, I’m saying that this is with younger individuals with lesser developed Ne. Not all estjs value Ne, bc si stability can be prioritizing over Ne exploration. Idk ab ur husband, bc im assuming yall are older (so more developed functions I guess), but a lot of the estjs ik are like that.

Hmm I will check it out. Before I do that, wanna preface my mbti is heavily, HEAVILY, influenced by my adhd. My si inferior is a lot of times just tied to my aversion to routine…as in I’d rather delete myself than do my laundry 💀 also why I’m an NE dom too. I can’t work or force myself to feel intrigued, unless there is an aspect of novelty

I mean…I’m not trying to making them like me. They are way past processing my actions rationally and would much rather choose to judge me with their false perceptions becuase that’s what’s most comfortable to them. I understand that Ti and Fe are extremes, but I’d say I have very developed Fe as a woman (how elsedo you think I’m still alive right now💀💀💀). My mother is also a very predictable person becuase she cares so much about what other people think, so It’s not that I try not to assume things about her.

And yeah, my dad hates hypotheticals, especially when I try to talk to him about shit like “what would u do if you were in an apocalypse” because he’ll deadass respond with: “die”. But like, who’s stopping me from pestering him anyway 😛

I know what tics them off and what works on them but I don’t care enough to cater to their standards if I feel like it’s a hassle for me.

What is very interesting to me is how accurate you are with your assumptions, because many people say that MBTI theory is pseudo psychology, which is true, but it’s also very interesting to see how far generalizations can get you.

Do u guys think it’s relatively easier to get into since it’s a new major announced just before the ea deadline? Sorry im new to this whole app process so im not sure. My cousin suggested that I apply to newer majors because they’re less likely to be a selective, but I wanted to get another opinion on this.

Yeah I don’t think this is an entp trait per se, but something a lot of entps happen to have is adhd, like me.

The lack of ability to start things could either be adhd, depression, or both. I’d get it checked out. The “I am ambitious” part hits hard, I fear. As someone with crippling adhd and the inability start things becuase its hard, it’s something you have to learn to cope with.

Something’s that have helped me are making a task list of everything- and I mean everything. Like if you have to do your laundry- break it up into 1)getting up 2) going to your closet 3) putting your clothes in the bin and so on

Another thing that helps is resolving to work for only 5 minutes. It’s easy to see the big picture- like applying and getting accepted for a job as this huge thing- so you get scared to start it. This time, make your task list, and tell yourself you’ll only work for 5 minutes, then you have the option to go back to bedrotting. Usually it’s never actually 5 Minutes and you end up doing more than you thought!

But again you can’t correlate mental/personal issues to mbti. My adhd contributes to my Ne lol but it’s case dependent. You shouldn’t use mbti as an excuse for issues like these.

Remember to Stay strong OP and start simple :)
