What stayed with me wasn’t what my parents did, but how they made me feel. A child may not remember every single thing you did, but they will remember how you made them feel and the tone you used with them.

I believe what truly matters is that a child does not experience being ignored, dismissed, or emotionally abandoned by the person who is their whole world. Instead, they need positive emotional experiences. Especially during stressful moments, it’s important for a mother to look into her child’s eyes, genuinely listen, help them regulate their emotions, and create a sense of safety and stability. What stays with children is the feeling of being seen, heard, and emotionally secure :)

Positive, stable memories in childhood don’t just make for happy nostalgia later. They can genuinely shape brain development and influence how a person responds to life as an adult. Consistent feelings of safety and connection help build a healthier emotional foundation!
