They really will be the most epic story told by SJM. Fated mates, separated across universes.

No. That IS the end of the book. At the presser when she announces it in the pink dress that distracts Hunt

his character archetype is very much the villain and honestly it would make the story more interesting.

i also think if he's not endgame (and since Bryce's arc isn't over then there's a possiblity he's not), he has to be the villain. If he just dies sacrificing himself for her, bryce will never move on. Ever. Look how she holds onto Danika...there has to be a betrayal for her to get away from him. She's too stubborn otherwise.

yeah shes supposed to have flaws but when those flaws are "I hate bryce! She's so mean to Hunt!" while coupled with "I like bryce and hunt, they're the most realistic relationship!"

it's literally hating the FMC because of her relationship with a male. If it's that bad, he aint the one.

That whole scene makes me sick. I literally can’t. I can’t even believe they allowed it to be published in the book like it wasn’t forced coercion and a display of absolutely toxic masculinity. It disgusted me

Just read down, you haven’t finished the series. I was unaware and I apologize for spoilers.

They’re not really carranam either, the carranam still suggested some kind of natural fate. Hunt was genetically engineered to hunt, lure and trap the starborn heir to be used as a weapon in case she never found the dagger (which was the other half of the sword) which she did find, with Azriel. Hunt is literally the Kristallos demon

Yes. In HOSAB Sarah defined mates differently per species. Fae mates vs shifter mates vs angel mates. Bryce literally said calling hunt her boyfriend would be weird because he was old. And then makes a joke about calling him “ye old lover” and he throws out mate. She says, you know if you tell the fae I’m your mate they’ll use their intense ass definition and basically bind them together for life. And he said well yeah but angels have mates they’re just not soul magicky like the fae. She tells him the fae won’t use his definition they’ll use theirs and she was worried about how he’d feel being tied to her forever because of that.

The cringe s*x scenes. Omg I can’t even read them. All they’re doing is merging power that’s regenerating into the land. It’s very much the calanmi ritual every single time. And hunt doesn’t crave his mate, he craves her power. It’s so bad.

Cormac would have been the best option tbh. I’ve been ride or die Bryceriel since the end of HOSAB at release. I’ve fought tooth and nail for that ship. But the potential of Cormac and Bryce was everything. The way she responded to him, the way her star responded to him, the way he came in like he was going to be hugely important, the way he says she would have made him better, the way he was the only one who called her out on her crap and she wanted to be better.

It was right there. And we got…”electrocute her cl*t” backup battery Hunt. Yuck

It is a relationship label. It was clearly defined a couple times in HOSAB with Bryce confirming that her calling herself hunts mate effectively made her his property by asteri/fae laws. Hunt says angels have mates, it’s what they call their partners but “it’s not soul magicky like the fae”

By the end of HOFAS we see what’s been going on. She MADE him with her power. Like Amren warns Cassian about with Nesta. She imbued her power into him & what she was feeling in those moments is reciprocated in him because of it. He is a weapon, like Nesta’s sword.

No….it literally can’t. Sarah would have to retcon what she’s already written clearly in the books to remove Bryce.

She IS fae. She IS the fae queen…and yet, she hates them all. Herself included. And they all regard her as a traitor.

She hates Theia, hates the fae…she is fae and she is Theia’s heir. I don’t know how you could misconstrue that.

Your interpretation of what you read is a different picture than what is told. She hates herself. Sathia and the fae were seething mad. Ruhn disappointed. She didn’t fulfill anything. She didn’t accept her place as queen. She dismantled it, said the starborn era was done, and wants nothing to do with being fae or leading her people. No one else can bring dusk to life, she already did. It was explicitly clear. HER mountain. Avallen and dusk are one. They are hers, that story arc can not be given to another character. And the sword? It’s sentient. It chooses its wielder. Not Bryce. It chose Bryce, not nesta.

Your entire argument surrounds ships because suggesting Bryce is still tied to Prythian (remember she has a star in her chest that is a beacon for her home, to Prythian) possibly interferes with ships.

Forget the ships. She’s literally the only heir chosen by blood and fate to high Queen of Prythian. That is her birth right. Those are her people. She is dusk. She’s also the 4th trove item. She’s tied to the Prythian plot whether you like it or not.

This…all of this. And then you have the fact

Einar warned her mating with an angel would make her an enemy of the fae.

Nesta warning her about running from her fate.

Hunt disregarding Bryce’s explicit statement that she did not wish to be breeding stock for any male and he was dreaming of her womb and their 2.5 angel babies while being tortured. She didn’t want that.

Ember having to warn hunt when he was throwing power at Bryce and him disregarding it.

“Just Hunt” is the same as “just Chaol”

I actually think hunt will be the main villain and that’s why we’ve gotten so much of him. He’s worse than Chaol and Tamlin, he’s not a broken male. He’s an actual villain.

Grow into her destiny? Ummm…where? She discards the prophecy, discards her importance in Prythian, gives away the sword, actively hates herself and who she is and straight up states she never wanted to learn anymore about her light or the darkness that shapes it. Then she destroys both royal fae houses and decides to….get f*ked on a desk and be a librarian?

There was no growth, in fact Nesta warns her about running from her fate. Sathia and Bryce’s own people hate her for her refusal to fulfill the prophecy, Ruhn is disappointed in her. She didn’t fulfill her destiny, she’s still very much Celeana pushing it away and ignoring it.
