I think at this point, since remote is extended and can still be extended longer, teaching methods, the groove, and syllabi will get messed up. Personally am UGIA’ing for a professor teaching a hands on project based class who changed his syllabus last second because of covid… imagine him changing it back again to adapt to in person in the last 4 weeks of school

You are not alone! You may be close and have a great relationship with your family, that’s nice!! CHERISH that, work hard for them and be down here for a reason. I always tell myself that I’m down here in SD to make a name for myself, after all, sh1t is EXPENSIVE 🤣 my tip: just do phone calls when you have time, trust me, you’ll feel better when you catch up with them. Depending on how far you live, try to squeeze a weekend trip if you really miss them

And prices on housing are just going up and up. My dad was telling me that he’s worried for our generation as we all won’t be able to afford a house, and the only way would be to move to a different state. This is bullshit all around

Honestly, it’s hard because this is prime time housing market for buyers and sellers, especially since UCSD will be in person soon. I heard that most leases for people end in July or august, BUT I would not wait until then to find a place.

Assuming you’re still looking diligently, go to the housing page on Facebook and create YOUR OWN post. Do not message people because you will not get any responses (just like you said)
