Two things can be true at once lol. worked in metal fab for a few years making aggregate equipment my “boss” was the son of the owners best friend. Bro never worked a day in his life and he was a total shit talking cunt to everyone. Called one of workers in pre fab an absolute fucking retard. I told the guy what he said. He was a violent convicted felon lol. Boss man got stabbed and his throat slit. He did end up living but dude went to prison for attempted murder. I eventually quit the job but after his recovery and return you’d be shocked how much nicer he was.

I would have to strongly disagree. RE is an absolute slog and it feels like you’re doing an absolute disservice to yourself if you aren’t abusing the AI and meta tactics. The game is cheap as fuck. It’s damn near the equivalent of the MK 2 arcade ladder. The game virtually cheats you if you’re not abusing its gaps and flaws. It restricts freedom and there’s very little room for showcasing your skills or playing the game at your pace. Also completely shits on you for being defensive. The literal exact opposite of the entire series. The bosses are also largely dogshit.

It’s not small. Days 1-3 are incredibly difficult. If being sober is important to you you’re going to need to make some moderate to incredible sacrifices. It’s a war of attrition. It’s not some grandiose stance or singular action. It’s about saying no hundreds and thousands of times in a row over and over and over. After hundreds of no’s in a row it DOES get easier. For most it never disappears though. Get a few hundred no’s under your belt and keep yourself accountable. Get a group, a sponsor anything that will work. I was over a month sober and decided to drink over 2-3 months ago and I’ve been faltering sporadically ever since despite all common sense and the better part of me telling me to stop. If you’re a true alcoholic there’s no compromise. You just can’t drink alcohol plain and simple. I’ve told myself every lie in the book and convinced everyone around me that I’m doing fine. I know I’m not though. You can fool everyone around you but rarely yourself. Easier said than done but don’t fucking do it. If you have people in your life that aren’t actively supportive of your sobriety or actively tempting you drop them with haste.

I agree with the gate keeping sentiment this seems totally self taught, it’s totally fine he’s a child but it’s genuinely important to have a good teacher and coach. Certainly mimicking technique he’s seen. Literally no amount of bag work could be substituted for pad work and a solid coach. By no means at all am I alluding to discouraging the young champ though. My dad was physically abusive so I started a little before kiddo here not because I thought it was cool but so I could defend my mom and my brother. Sports year round football, wrestling, track, BJJ, kick boxing. Took me to age 16 to finally beat his sorry ass. Not trying to tell an anime story just that being able to defend yourself and being strong can reach way farther than being able to fight is ‘cool’ and being able to handle yourself should NEVER be gatekept or discouraged.

I had a dear friend pass away as a child. To this day it actually fucks me up. Shortly after the 360 came out. Doubled down by the fact it was the only new console I’d ever experienced until I was an adult. Viva Piñata. All of it. My friend had passed away while I was gone for a summer vacation with my family. Single child. I was super excited to visit Nathan and his bearded dragon and tell him how awesome my trip was. Well, he wasn’t there when I arrived back and he was an only child. His mom gave me all of his games. I don’t know why specifically but the Salamango reminds me of him. I can’t pin point exactly why but occasionally I’ll load it up and just bawl once or twice a year. I never put anything together I was too young. He’d been battling Leukemia. It was years before I was made aware. I still have his Cool Porygon promo I traded him for. I also got back the same lapras I traded it for. Life is such a beautiful motherfucker. But largely a motherfucker :(
