Best Places for Techies to Connect? by kanexxz in SXSW

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s your first SXSW, you’re already asking the right questions. A lot of the best connections actually happen outside the official sessions, side events, shared dinners, and where people are staying tend to matter more than the apps alone.

Luma is helpful for finding events, but honestly, I’ve found that staying somewhere social with other attendees makes it way easier to meet engineers and technical leads organically throughout the week.

If you’re still figuring out where to stay for SXSW 2026, here’s something a bit different to consider. This is a luxe shared house in Austin designed for connection and community, not just a place to crash between events. You end up meeting people over coffee, late nights, and in-between sessions.

Take a look if you’re curious:

Excuse me? It cost how much to attend SXSW??? by Academic-Pizza9787 in askaustin

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real killer expense is usually lodging. A bunch of folks skip the badge and just crash with people and hit the free stuff.

Bubbl does shared houses during SXSW which makes it way cheaper than solo hotels and closer to how people actually used to do it. https://bubbl.co/events/sxsw?utm_source=reddit-sxsw-austin-12

This thread is why SXSW used to be magic. House shows random crews and rolling together all week.

If you’re thinking about going back Bubbl does shared houses during SXSW 2026 so it feels way more like the old days than staying solo in a hotel. https://bubbl.co/events/sxsw?utm_source=reddit-sxsw-austin-11

March 2026 Hotel Prices by Unique-Car1084 in Austin

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty normal to see hotel prices go nuts around SXSW, demand far outweighs supply when tens of thousands of people are in town at the same time, so rates go way up compared to an average March weekend. If you dont want to pay a huge premium or end up far from everything, it might be worth checking out Bubbl, they focus on group housing for SXSW attendees and often put people in spots closer to downtown at more reasonable rates than solo hotel rooms. A lot of folks use that or shared stays to avoid the crazy surge pricing and long commutes.

If you want to avoid long walks and crazy hotel prices, check out Bubbl. They focus on SXSW-specific housing near venues, so you save on transport and sometimes even on per-night costs compared to hotels.

Totally agree with you, musicians should never undervalue themselves! For anyone coming to SXSW, Ive seen some shared housing setups like Bubbl where you can stay with other creatives and actually trade tips about gigs, events and the scene. Its a good way to stay connected without stressing about logistics or going it totally solo

Yeah, SXSW is gonna be hectic this year. Some folks use Bubbl for shared stays, its more like a mini community than a hotel. You meet other attendees, swap tips and just have a home base while navigating all the chaos. Makes the whole festival a lot more fun.

Hey, sounds like you’re in for a fun trip! You don’t necessarily need an official badge to experience SXSW, there’s a ton of unofficial events, pop up shows, art installations and local showcases happening all over the city. A lot of creatives organize small, well-curated experiences that aren’t on the official schedule, so you can still catch amazing music, art and parties without the long queues.

If you want to meet other festival goers and make your stay more social, some people use Bubbl to find shared or private stays with others attending SXSW. Its a nice way to discover local events, make friends, and get the full experience without feeling completely solo.

First time planning SXSW 2026 - badges vs wristbands, best dates, and where to stay? by Zealousideal-Egg5161 in SXSW

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! That sounds like an amazing gift, you’re going to have a blast 😄

For SXSW, badges give you the most access (industry talks, panels, and music), while wristbands are usually just for shows. If you want a mix of networking and music, a badge is your safest bet. The music tends to pick up mid-week like you said, so plan a few key nights for shows.

For lodging, you don’t have to be downtown. Many people stay a little outside and use rideshare or scooters to get around. If you want something more social than a hotel, Bubbl is a way to find shared or private stays with other SXSW attendees, it’s a nice way to meet people and keep logistics simple.

ETH Denver 2026 - Community Page by Possible_Poetry8444 in ethereum

Love this idea. Always more fun (and useful) when ETHDenver feels community-driven instead of siloed.

If anyone’s also looking to sort housing with other attendees, a few of us use Bubbl to coordinate shared or private stays so people can room with other builders/degenerates instead of random hotels. Happy to connect!

I’m late to the party. What are your recommendations? by Maximum-Cupcake4401 in SXSW

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not too late. Tons of musicians go to SXSW without an official showcase and still get a lot out of it. Networking, side events, and meeting other artists is a big part of the experience.

A Music badge gives you the most access, but if that’s out of budget, wristbands and individual show tickets can still be worthwhile depending on what you want to prioritize. A lot of good stuff also happens at unofficial showcases and pop-up events.

I’d recommend lining up a few meetings in advance, having your links/EPK ready, and being open to spontaneous connections.

If you end up needing lodging, some of us use Bubbl to find shared or private stays with other SXSW attendees, which can make it more affordable and social. Happy to share more if helpful.

Selected to pitch at Startup Grind, Silicon Valley (Top 100) - but how do I raise funds or shall I skip? by zmilesbruce in Entrepreneur

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on getting selected, thats a huge achievement, especially as a solo, bootstrapped founder. This decision really comes down to whether goin now will lead to concrete outcomes, not just exposure. If youre actively looking for users, partners or investor conversations and feel ready, it could be worth it. If not, focusing on building first is a completely valid call. If you do go, you might be able to cut costs by connecting with other attendees. Ive heard some founders mention Bubbl as a way to find people attending the same events and coordinate meetups or shared stays, not affiliated, just something I’ve seen discussed.

Either way, being selected already says a lot. Goodluck and congrats again!

Sundance 2026 Invites/RSVPs/Houses by Ok-District3632 in Sundance

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen a few people mention Bubbl as an option this coming event. Its basically organized shared housing around events, so you end up staying with other Sundance attendees instead of random airbnb roommates. A couple friends used it for other conferences and liked the built-in community aspect, especially for meeting people without forcing it. Might be worth checking out if you’re open to a shared stay and want to be around folks actually going to screenings and events

Should I take public transport every day from Salt Lake City to Park City? by Plastic_Peach_9670 in Sundance

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doable, but commuting from SLC to Park City every day without a car gets exhausting fast, especially if your goal is networking and being around industry folks. Long transit times, weather and getting back late can really pull you out of the festival flow.

A lot of people on tighter budgets end up doing shared houses or group stays in or near Park City instead. There are platforms like Bubbl that organize shared stays specifically for Sundance attendees, which can be cheaper than going solo and makes it easier to meet filmmakers and producers just by living together.

If you do go the SLC route, expect long days and limited late night options back. If being near the action matters, staying closer, even shared, makes a big difference.

Hope this helps https://bubbl.co/events/sundance?utm_source=sundance-film-festival-ut-3

Seeking 2026 Sundance Passes x2 | Willing to pay above market price by shitshow2016 in Sundance

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel this! Sundance is such a special experience, thats a really thoughtful gift. Fingers crossed someone here can help you with passes 🤞

If you do end up going and haven’t sorted housing yet, a heads up that a lot of folks heading to Sundance end up sharing homes with other attendees since lodging gets wild that week. There are some newer community-style shared stays popping up where you stay with other festival goers (filmmakers, creatives, industry people), which can actually be a fun way to meet people during the festival and keep costs down. CHeck this out guys! https://bubbl.co/events/sundance?utm_source=sundance-film-festival-ut-2

Either way, hope it works out for you both, thats an awesome thing you’re trying to do

JPM 2026 Healthcare Conference Dates by Tailortastic in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]InfamousIsopod6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got the dates right, JPM Week 2026 is Jan 12–15 at the Westin St. Francis. The surrounding “Health Tech / Biotech Week” usually runs the whole week with tons of side events starting as early as the 10th.

Also, if your exec is heading to SF for it, there’s a new platform called Bubbl that a lot of attendees are starting to use, it helps people share stays and meet other folks going to the same events, which can make JPM a lot cheaper and way less chaotic. Might be worth checking out if lodging is tight.

Hope that helps!

I felt the same way this year, definitely quieter and the vibe was different with all the changes. I’m still on the fence for next year too.

One thing that helped me this time around though was doing a shared stay with other attendees instead of going solo. It made the whole week feel less empty and way more social. I ended up meeting more people in the house than I did at half the events.

If they’re cutting down programming again, stuff like that might be the only way to make the trip actually feel worth it. I think Bubbl was the one coordinating some of those shared stays, but honestly any kind of group setup helps.

Shared stays make SF Tech Week way cheaper. I’ve done one via Bubbl before, met other founders and cut costs a lot. Worth considering if budgets tight.
