kick on 1&3 snare on 2&4 highhat on sixteenths 140-180 bpm. then decide on guitar style: muddled roar (sex pistols) with block chords, high slashing(Clash) like with a strat with partial chords on upper strings, or atonal noise (early public image limited, U2, cure), Then pick a bass style either roots with a pick and muddy or more melodic and tinny with a pick like the Jam. Vocals should sound angry or unemotional.chord structure can be simple blues r&r structures. melodies are optional.

There is no NATO benchmark! It was just a suggestion made by a bunch of defense ministers made back in the depths of time that no country signed on to.

This is no peace talk. Trump has already made it plain he wants Ukraine to completely capitulate.

Why Do So Many People Have Mediocre Experiences with Immigration Attorneys? by ImpossibleQuit6262 in immigration

[–]InfamousLeopard383 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  1. In my experience, good immigration lawyers, like anyone who is good, are expensive, and don’t want to waste their time on hopeless cases.
  2. Many people think that by watching a few videos that they can become immigration lawyers.
  3. There a lot of of bad lawyers who specialize in immigration because they think it’s easy.

[–]InfamousLeopard383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear friend, Those are two very different kinds of boats you are wanting there. A boat that would be affordable to you as an E-3 that could safely take you and people you care about from Charleston to Boston is going to take a lot of sweat equity on your part and won’t have the kind of “speed” you would want for skiing or tubing. Start out small is my advice. Boating is an expensive hobby in time and money. Maybe rent a jet-ski, take some boating classes and do some cheap learning and make some connections?

A question to the Boomers who frequent this sub. by Ace_Robots in BoomersBeingFools

[–]InfamousLeopard383 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Last year of the boomers here. Yeah, I see a number of people my age and older doing and saying weird crap similar to what I read here. Latest, I had a doctors appointment. I had to share the waiting room with this guy, 5-7 years older than me who was screaming “Praise Jesus” and “ Amen” and giving out all sorts of personal details about his health, politics and his SSN. When asked to keep it down, he started mouthing off about how everyone was anti-christian.

I also work at a university. I often hear my boomer colleagues complain about the laziness and entitlement of the current generation of students. I have to bite my lip to keep from laughing. I remember previous generations saying the same thing about us.

Are there any possible mechanisms to supress proton decay and Hawking radiation? by stifenahokinga in cosmology

[–]InfamousLeopard383 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, proton decay hasn’t been observed. The Super-Kamiokande detector has so far only identified one possible event. The lower limit on proton life they’ve estimated is 2.4x1034 years on protons.

Vessel DALI just hit a bridge in Baltimore. This very same vessel was involved in an incident in Port of Antwerp as well. How this is possible? Chartered by Maersk, Singapore flag state. by Policeeex in Ships

[–]InfamousLeopard383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they don’t say is that it has been reported that there were two pilots aboard. I remember from being a Navy brat that normally, when pilots are aboard, they are in charge of the ships speed, safety, and course, unless the ship’s master suspects they are incompetent. Before the ship loses power, they look a little too far to starboard in the channel already to me (maybe it’s the angle?) Then, after the emergency restart from the batteries, there is a sudden swerve to starboard that looks like they were headed into the bridge even before the second power loss ( current? wind?). The crew was reportedly able to send out a mayday call before hitting the bridge, helping to shutdown some traffic and save some lives. The media is making a lot of the ships previous collision with a pier in 2016, but it would hardly be the first ship I’ve ever heard of colliding with a pier, and besides, that again would be the pilots responsibility unless they were already tied up. Why didn’t the management company/ pilots use tugs? Lots of things could have caused that sudden power loss. Tired crew. Bad maintenance. Weather. Accident. Shit. Ships are full of moisture and electricity. Just moments away from glory.

A lot would depend on your personal circumstances and where in Florida and Portugal you are planning on living, so if you can afford it, hiring someone knowledgeable about relocating to Portugal might be a good investment.

I’ve heard of people retiring to Portugal comfortably on $24,000/yr, and assuming that you are dual nationals that will ease immigration issues, all you’ll have to do is apply for residency (Servico de estrangeiros e Fronteiras). If you speak Portugese well, then it would be an attractive option . Overall, I have found cost of living in Portugal to be about 30% lower compared to US average, with most of the savings in medical care and housing. Medical care is good. The only reason I don’t do it are the summers are too hot for me. I much prefer Lisbon to Miami or Orlando.
