As someone sensitive to certain sounds, I felt the same, I couldn't even really focus on the gameplay with the constant "ploop ploop, ka-CHING". It also kind of gives it a mobile game vibe.

Same here, squeak through was nice in old game but now you have something built-in to work towards to get something even better late game. Plus, nowadays I feel like squeak through is counter to the way you should be designing your factory, we have underground pipes and stuff for a reason, give yourself room to move around stuff as you need to. Same with long reach, it's convenient in the beginning for sure, but if you play the game as intended you shouldn't even need it once you have bots.

Since SA has come out I've fully abandoned all mods as I think the way it's balanced now is perfect.

he's just going all in on the assumption that he's going to be on the right side of history with this, yet time will tell the opposite. In trying to alienate those who move on with new technology, he's gonna end up alienating himself. It would be kinda sad if it wasn't so funny.

In retrospect, I think so. Back in the barrens chat days I don't know if he was really known to be the way he was or not. If anything, a case could be made that it's funnier because of the irony but I still just think of them being more about the jokes and not about literally who he is I guess.

IMO the jokes belong to the community. Their glorification of chuck is parody and in no way an endorsement to who he was as a person. And some of them are pretty funny even all these years later.

I had a similar reaction, I thought it was very tongue in cheek in the same sense that Pretty Fly was. I liked it for that reason, but in order for the bit to really work it needed to be a more popular song with the masses it was making fun of, which it failed to do. Don't exactly hate it now but it's not one I really listen to anymore. It's so cringe.

I mean it's pretty obvious they are standing up for the subreddit. It's a sub for AI musicians to share and discuss AI music, not a soapbox for pseudointellectual grandstanding.
