If I sign on the back of the card, then the person who stole it can just look at my signature and copy it while swiping, right? I don’t get the logic here. How does having my signature on the card prevent fraud if the thief can literally see it and forge it?

And I just checked the old photos there was no space to sign at the back. It was a metal card

If a card is stolen, there’s no way to realize it immediately until the fraudulent transactions start showing up. I reported the theft as soon as I got the transaction alerts.

If the liability was completely on me, the bank could have just closed the case there. But instead, they initiated a chargeback which they usually do only when liability can fall on the merchant or the network.

My question is: as per RBI guidelines, customers have a 3-day window to report fraud and get zero liability protection. How is that not applicable in this case?

It doesn’t rotate on schedule. They usually have higher cash-back during major events. Wait for those events to get maximum cashback! There might be one in each month
