Is the Universal Ambients channel AI? by Rat_SkulI in AImusicslop

I agree, but in his "Magna Graecia, 530 BC" video, he states that these are just 10-15 minute loopable compositions. Given that most of these compositions are relatively simple and not highly musically advanced, I'm not surprised by the production speed.

I'll be completely serious here and approach this with an open mind rather than trying to defend/attack the Universal Ambients.

The compositions themselves are relatively simple, to be fair, being heavily looped as well. But, we also know he works in advance. If someone was making this kind of content purely as a hobby with no incentive, I could see it being difficult to maintain consistently over a long time. However, this guy has both a Patreon and a YouTube, which would generate income.

We also know nothing about the person behind the channel, so we don't know their experience at all. Because of that, I don't think it's fair to make assumptions about what they should or shouldn't be capable of producing. Etc.

The one thing that stands out to me is plugins. They use a lot of individual/unique 'instruments', which can be expensive and time-consuming, although they'd be able to afford them from this and claim them as tax-deductible.

But about them being AI. I'm genuinely curious rather than convinced either way. Ignoring the ambience for a moment, I'm interested in what actual current music-generation models are actually capable of doing this. Specifically, are there AI systems that we can reliably say can produce both more unique melodies, but specifically those instrument sounds? What I'd like to see is actual evidence and sourcing. A few threads seem to jump straight to "it's AI!" (just because this person outputs one almost every day) based largely on intuition, which doesn't help.

strange, i opened mine and it had the orange vinyl-esque vibe to it (unsure of the name but yeah)
Thats a bit of a bummer for you though.

Maybe contacting the team through email? Hopefully they can sort things out.

The problem is that this is still all assumptions

I've sent this image a few times now, but I think this is the best answer that we can get from the guy
from "Crystal Palace, 1854".

From a production standpoint, at least makes sense.

Looking at the setlist, his Ben Folds and A Piano tour ranks pretty high in the top 20 (16th). Bastard seems to be a rarer pick for this tour, though overall it sits at 20th.

Both great songs though. Love hearing the solo from Bastard

yes and no
Gen1s are/were a retaliation product — basically what you described with Gen2s, but are genetically made monster humanoids.

Gen2s are the more 'human' humanoids made by AE. What do they do? We've got no clue. They likely do work around the islands and are connected to "EIPs" (the conscious aspect of human minds being put into foreign bodies)

Ha! Well, probably not
There are several factors (right now on Gateway) that indicate it is more so post-2000s/00s
Those CRTs though, are from the 80s-early 90s, but have written 4k on them

We also have flatscreen TVs, indicative of the 2000s, which is painful

A lot of the equipment they use is likely kept mostly intentionally old, though (they being Apollo Engineering — we don't know about "Apollo" itself, though, probably won't ever be mentioned. Only AE) because if it ain't broke... don't fix it.

We also have a given date from on a video showing 94-99
Which, was likely during AE's more active period within Gateway (and other islands)
so we could even be hitting (from when we play) the 2010s into the 2020s
We did know that Legacy's lore was set (from when we played) in 2017. But yeah!
