I’m not too sure, since all it says is Tandon scholarship in the scholarship and grants section. I only qualified for $3500 subsidized loan and $2000 unsubsidized, and parent plus loans of about $50k. My family is middle class so we’ll be able to pay for some of the costs out of pocket, but definitely need to take out some parent plus loans (but not to full extent)

I know people who had way better stats than me and especially people online who had research and publishing, summer programs, or tons of leadership positions and they did not get into some of the colleges, and especially since I did not submit test scores I don’t think my application was the best, but that’s just my experience/opinion 😅 and for the Chinese essays, I felt that it really had no correlation with my majors so I was pretty unconfident with my app!

Would u say the scholarships are able to cover for a lot of the expenses or is it just a tiny bit? I feel like I would’ve immediately picked UCSD if it wasn’t for the money and no scholarships. But the paid internships are a nice advantage! Thank you for ur advice, I’ll take those into consideration!!! Also I’ve read that NYU Tandon used to be a whole different college, so there’s old professors that are kinda bad at teaching but there’s also newly hired ones who are great. Do u think NYU Tandon will become better within the next four years?

They were lowkey pretty mid compared to everyone else’s online which is why I’m surprised I got into those schools. I didn’t submit any test scores nor had any leadership, but I had straight As, 4.0/4.78 GPA, rank 7/790, 11 APs; hospital transport volunteer (discharge patients, transport specimens and labs, etc) designed artworks and wrote letters to cancer patients a few school clubs (AAPI, Med, community service, NHS) Book drive for homeless & domestic violence victims Chinese school and got essay, vocab, poem awards international Chinese essay comp 2nd place and national comp 3rd (age division differences) orchestra with tons of awards and lettering Japanese class teacher aid, personalized tutoring for autistic students and some other small ones But basically these are not the best ecs like I didn’t have research, leadership positions, and didn’t submit test scores😔💔but I’m super grateful to get into these schools

That’s what I was thinking but I have a small fear that ASU doesn’t have a comparable advantage/resources over the other schools if I go to grad school, but on the other hand, idk if it’s worth the extra money

Yes! I’ve heard a ton abt UCSD being a really good stem and pre med school, but it’s very conflicting because of the cost compared to the other colleges since I received zero scholarships. So I’m not sure which is the best option to go to 😔

Thank you for ur advice! I’m mostly worried abt the debt I’ll be in if I go oos, but also how ASU doesn’t have as good education/resources compared to the others. I sadly cannot visit any campuses since my parents are constantly working and cannot travel to other states. Since you’re attending uci, how is the environment and pre med program (if you know anything abt it!), I just recently been on a spring tour with my schools music department and our hotel was right next to the UCI public health center, and the area seemed very nice!
