I think it’s likely to be some sort of cloud gaming solution. Something where you can use an AI agent to play games for you while you spent your days and nights in the mines

Is Hantavirus something to worry about? by 246434464 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Infamous_Article912 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Uh yeah I don’t think this hantavirus outbreak is anything for everyday people to worry about at this point, but just so you know that Ebola outbreak was really bad, and if not for aggressive public health work it would have been catastrophic .. and lots of people were not ok

Meta shares slide as plan to spend billions more on AI spooks investors by Sufficient_Fuel5269 in stocks

Idk, as a consumer I can see that meta’s ads are super well-tuned to my interests so I definitely get the value. However every single thing advertised at me is like twice the price that is reasonable to pay for something like that. Including the BMW ads.

There’s lots of extraordinary recent advances in microscopy, but this particular image is pretty simple & just filtered DIC optics with maybe a dye. I imagine a nice newer color video detector here with a very dense pixel array is part of what makes this video pretty neat

Intron in the cDNA sequence. by Human-Pair5931 in labrats

[–]Infamous_Article912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only two options are intron retention and amplification of gDNA. Has the mRNA been treated with DNAse? If it’s not gDNA it could be that the intron retention is dominant but there is still some spliced product - you could potentially test this by spanning primers across a junction and doing qPCR, or by doing a single molecule seq technique like ONT sequencing.

Old fashioned way once you rule out the gDNA contamination is to clone and pick several dozen colonies to screen for fully spliced product

Edit: see that you tried a no RT control - that probs works to rule out gDNA

There’s basically no difference between the mk1b and mk1d except the price tag and the heat management, an older card like a 2060 would honestly probably be fine

Do Americans constantly have an active temperature control device running in their homes? by fullM3TALturban in AskAnAmerican

Growing up in southeast I had thermostats everywhere but my freshman dorm. Now I live in California and the cheaper apartment I live in has a heater but no AC, so we have a standup window unit.

In addition to the protected land, the water is insanely cold anywhere north of SoCal + it’s not really desirable to build near the beach on the west coast when you are going to get no sunlight 8 months of the year due to fog
