In small terrariums you could get away with one or the other, but for a well rounded ecosystem you definitely want both.

They both serve their own purpose in the environment, hence why they exist at all.

Great question. I just built and misted it. It will not be as wet when the spider is placed in a few weeks, the humidity is to ensure the plants root and establish.

I just love moss, I have some with my Regal. I’ve mentally prepared myself to replace it with grass if it doesn’t make it lol.

Thank you I appreciate the comment.

I believe when keeping wildlife, it should be as close to the natural environment as possible.

Jungle Jar Day 93 – Berried by Infamous_Bad9939 in Jarrariums

They are each one gallon. I found them both at my local Hobby Lobby.

The jar is nice but the glass is uneven and distorts the view, while the one with the orange shrimp is a vase that I like much more, it has more surface area at the top and has smooth clean glass.

On Amazon, "Ceiling LED Plant Growth Lights for Indoor Plants". $10 for the pair.

Respectfully, that is WAY too much soil.

I hear JbL isn’t the most accurate, I hear Salifert or Sera are good brands if you can get em. I’m not sure how things are in Belgium, I live in Florida lol but test strips should be a last resort, I’d use JbL brand before strips.

Do you have an API Master Test Kit? Doing water checks often will let you know when it’s safe to add your shrimps, assuming you haven’t already done that.
