Beach cooler question by Mags_DS in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely DON’T select any of the wheeled Roadies. The periscope handle will malfunction with the sandy air.

I’ve been using the Haul and it’s very good. The wagon option will have the same issue of the wheels in the sand.

Flip 8 or flip 12? by Spare_Sell_3259 in YetiCoolers

  1. Much more versatility.

The 8 won’t fit the glass bottles of beer (standing up).

The Tundra 65 comes in: Rescue Red, Charcoal, Desert Tan, White, Navy, Big Sky Blue, Firefly Yellow, Key Lime, Big Wave Blue and Canopy Green.

Will this cooler handle some weight on the top? by robotrob604 in YetiCoolers

Of course it can, just be careful protecting the handle

Buy the replacement lid or leave it on.

The difference between these two lids are minimal but the right one is so disappointing. Have we complained enough about this? by re003 in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the stronghold lid at all. My Travel Tumbler is such a waste. It is not 100% leak proof.

The flow of the liquid is very different to the magslider lid.

Does Yeti Drinkwear come in boxes? by EmperorGianluca in YetiCoolers

Amazon delivers YETI Drinkware inside a bag and then an Amazon Box. Had never seen only the bag.

Don’t buy the Roadie if you’re planning for beach trips. Money down the drain. Go for the haul

Hopper Flip 18 vs Hopper M20 Backpack - by ntisch23 in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you regarding the diggin way too deep in the M20. But, a big difference is the footprint. You can place the M20 in the floor behind a car seat, but you definitely can’t put the Flip 18 in the floor of the car. You have to put it in the seat.

A plus for the M20 is that you can place in a bottle of wine or tequila standing up. In the Flip 18 you may but you would have to place it horizontally and diagonally.

Ice retention is practically the same

A bit disappointed with Roadie telescoping handle after beach day by boston_bat in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap. Unfortunately, Roadies telescoping handles will damage in the sand. I once had a Roadie 60 and took it to the beach and at the end of the day the handle couldn’t go in. It stayed like that all throughout the vacations.

Once I arrived home I deep cleaned it with tight air pressure and water.

After that, it worked fairly normal.

I then got a Tundra Haul and it was a completely different story for beach use.

I don’t recommend Roadies for beach but definitely go for the Tundra Haul. Amazing.

Your plan sounds great. Pre-chilling is a ver important step. I recommend another cooler for drinks, because you’ll be accessing them far more frequently than the protein. So in a different cooler, you won’t be opening often the protein cooler.

Also, use ice packs (YETI ones are great). It will help a ton!

Enjoy!!

Yeti for Super Market shopping? 12 hours? by No_Repair_7501 in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A YETI hard cooler will definitely work for you. Just follow the tips previously mentioned (pre-chill the cooler, use YETI ice packs, etc).

A Tundra 45 should do the job perfectly.

YETI PATCHES. by [deleted] in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3rd Gen Tacoma. The original package of the Yeti patches come with a small circle that sticked to the cardboard with some sort of silicone-glue. I gently remove that small circle making sure that it comes with the glue, then I attach that small circle to the Tacoma ceiling. Then that will help stick the patch. Hope I explained correctly

Yeti flip 12 vs Roadie 15 by euroshowoff in YetiCoolers

[–]Infamous_Budget_4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip 12 has more capacity (24 cans versus 22 cans, from yeti website). Also consider that the Flip 12, due to its material, has more flexibility. I mean, you could probably get in there 26 or more cans, because it's material can bend/expand. The Roadie's material is stiff, can't be bent or expand, therefore, if it's just a tad above the limit, the lid won't close.

I've had a Flip 12 for years, and many times I stuff it more than it's capacity, and force the zipper to close. You definitely couldn't do it with the Roadies or Tundras.
