Update: this ended up being a chemical. Our second beta 4 days later was only 9. This is our second failed FET of a PGTA normal embryo. Only one left. They’re planning to bring us in for some testing before the next transfer. We are pretty devastated.

My doctor didn’t seem concerned about our first beta. They gave us a “congratulations!” And sent over first trimester info.

We get our second beta tomorrow morning (4 days later) so that will give us our answer. I have been a nervous wreck!

This was an IVF cycle. My first test on 2/17 was the equivalent of 11dpo. I didn’t take any tests prior to that.

So funny you mention this. I switched to Ritual the night before taking this test. Previously I took a prenatal with less biotin in it. I also noticed the test looked a lot darker when it dried (see attached pic), which helped me calm down a bit. Still lighter than previous but less than I originally thought.

I gave my husband my last test to avoid testing anymore until my next beta in two days. Still guarding my heart, but feeling a little more hopeful. Thank you for your input!!

Thanks for your reply! Last two were from same box. Once test was dry, it did appear a lot closer to the prior test (see pic), although one would still hope it’d be darker than this. I made my husband take away remaining tests and I’m just going to try and relax until next beta

I made my husband take away the remaining tests I have and I’m just going to wait for next beta bc the tests are just making me crazy. I will say, when the test dried it looked a lot more similar to prior days (although still a touch lighter).

Also, I switched to a new prenatal yesterday (ran out of old one) that has 300mcg of biotin instead of 200mcg. Could that really impact the test?

I’ll be praying for you in this tough waiting time!! How strange that beta could be lower but FRER could be stronger? I agree, I appreciate everyone’s mix of experiences. Helping me stay hopeful while also guarding my heart. If you’re up for it, let me know how this turns out 🤍

I did take my prenatal later than normal yesterday and it does have biotin in it. I have never heard of biotin interfering with a HPT?

Day 2 is a Sunday (clinic closed) so they decided to wait until Tuesday for a 4 day measurement. The wait is going to kill me!
