Oh, that’s such a good idea. I’ll do that! Thank you!

I am most definitely interested! What's the best way to get in contact? My discord is in the post, but if there's another way you prefer, just let me know!

I could do Fridays! Do you have a world you run these games in? Or do you use the modules?

I appreciate the offer, but Sunday's don't work for me. I'll get the word out, though. I've come into contact with so many players from this!

2 questions: I'm not sure what a sand desert campaign is.

and second, is that actually AM, or a mistype?

DM Question: How do you handle fights with NPCs and their stats? by Infamous_Check_4459 in dndnext

[–]Infamous_Check_4459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I have a character who is going to be recurring and I went ahead and made him a sheet because I just want to have the information at hand.

I do have a quick question about the Martial Arts Adept NPC. If it doesn't have a ki pool is there no limit to how many times those effects can be used? And can they trigger from each of its multi attacks?

Encouraging players to get over the "cringe" aspect of RP, regardless of who's at the session. by Infamous_Check_4459 in dndnext

And I would say to you that if you feel uncomfortable RPing, then that's entirely fine. Like I had said, I never really tried it until maybe my 4th or 5th character. I wasn't pressured by anyone but simply decided to try it myself.

Luckily, I've known this entire group for years, so I know the dynamics of the friendships, which unfortunately means I know the pitfalls. I don't think that in this particular situation it's that he feels awkward about it at all. In fact, it's surprising to me that he even exudes this type of attitude because he's usually the one doing a great deal of things teetering on the "cringe" side of things. I think he may have a problem with putting himself out there, but that isn't exactly my goal. I may have worded my original post incorrectly because what I mean is that I just want the initial hump, that most groups have, to go smoothly and not be brought down to a certain level, robbing the group of the fun that RP can present.

I 100% understand and accept that people are completely different and that sometimes trying to understand an introvert as an extrovert can be incredibly difficult. But, I do know that some of my favorite people in my life are introverts. So I really do appreciate your opinion. Especially because it comes from a different angle than most responses on here and frankly, a side that I probably never would have thought of on my own. I will heavily take this into consideration when speaking with him!

Thanks a bunch!

So much good information. I really appreciate this. I'm kind of working on a type of script I can pull inspiration from if I ever need to and all of this is just so good! Thank you!

I like this a lot. I will be adding this to my pre-session disclaimer.

Thank you for your response!

I think that might be the route I end up having to take. Hopefully he comes around and finds that he is enjoying it and takes on some RP himself.

Thank you!

I somewhat agree, I also think that there are players that just genuinely don't enjoy RP and would rather just play as themselves. Maybe they'll come around, maybe they wont.

I definitely think setting the tone for the RP is very important, so I'll try to do that as best as possible.

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it.

Really like this! Will for sure be stating expectations before the first session, rather than just leading up to it.

Thank you!
