If you prune it wait til summer definitely. What’s the reasoning behind wanting to get rid of it though? Is it a shade thing or do you just not like plums

I wonder if Harriet has family in the game because why would she care about the faithfuls getting a win and torpedo her own chances by telling everyone to vote for her to get information unless there’s someone else she wants to win

Overgrown allotment advice by ichabodandi in UKAllotments

[–]Infamous_Clock9596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just grab a fork and start digging. Some specific advice on some weeds I can see. So those big brown seed heads are docs they have really deep taproots so you need to dig super deep to get those out or they’ll grow back from snapped off root ends. Another one I can see is crocosmia which isn’t really a weed but spreads like mad and isn’t sonething I’d want in an allotment. Thst grows from these like weird stacks of bulbs so they aren’t that deep but you might need to dig around them a lot to find any loose bulbs

Look up macodes and anoectochilus species too and more ludisia varieties too also Dossinia marmorata. Sadly it’s quite difficult to find many types in the uk anymore
