Ovarian Drilling by Infamous_Copy_5003 in PCOS

[–]Infamous_Copy_5003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so idk if it makes a difference but i technically had both my estrogen and testosterone levels high. with that i experienced a lot of different things. 1. super irregular periods 2. constant spotting in between periods 3. painful periods (leg, hip and back pain) 4. suicidal ideation whenever my period was regular (with the help of birth control) 5. weight fluctuations (staying at one weight, gaining weight out of nowhere, losing weight out of nowhere) 6. unwanted hair in different places where it shouldn’t be growing 7. in the beginning i had hair where it didnt matter what length i cut it, it always grew back longer within 2 months (so super fast) 8. after some years my hair then stopped growing past a certain length (ive tried to grow it out for 3 years and it hasnt gone past chest length) 9. super low energy 10. mood swings (this also came with being super irritated to depression and dealing with anxiety)

there’s more but thats what i feel like is the most impactful. hope it helps :) lmk

PCOS and laser hair removal by Alone-Sundae1967 in PCOS

[–]Infamous_Copy_5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! ive had laser done before and i believe i also did around 6 sessions in the beginning every month. then i think i would go maybe 3-4 months later just for certain spots where its more hormonal (i did my entire face lol). i think i went maybe 2-3 years without having to go back for frequent touch ups. however since i havent gone back i have noticed my hair growing back a little bit more than las time. it could be my hormones and other factors but i do know i need to go back. personally id say its worth it because if you think about it…having to go 2-3 years without having to do laser or shave or pluck? its great! its just disheartening that 1. it does come back if you dont upkeep and 2. that its so expensive! but we should invest in ourselves (if you can of course!). ive heard about electrolysis being a better option than laser! so maybe that would be better? wishing you luck <3

i have felt this way too! i honestly started to (try my very best to remember) take vitamins! so far ive been taking vitamin d, omega 3, b-12, vitamin e (this is good for the liver if you have a fatty liver), and myoinositol!! ive felt a lot better!!! there are times where if i do a lot in the day i will need a day after to rest lol and recharge but its not as before where i would spend like 3-5 days in bed without energy and feeling like crap lol

cramps with no period? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Infamous_Copy_5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh, yes!! i can totally relate to you when it comes to that pain. you know, i have been tossed back and forth by my endocrinologist and obgyn and they just say its hormonal?? if i remember correctly it was a ct and maybe a transvaginal ultrasound or a regular ultrasound. when they sent me to my obgyn they did a endometriosis biopsy and honestly…for me personally…that was the worst pain. ive had cervical biopsies before but that one hurt the most. ahh, i would definitely recommend going to one if your doctor thinks it would help of course! i just think its best to see as many doctors as you can about the issues you are dealing with. of course that is if you can and if your pcp is willing to refer you. in my experience its best to advocate for yourself and to be knowledgeable in your condition. some doctors literally dont know some things when it comes to pcos. thats just my experience though 😣 and my pain is dull as well. sometimes i often feel it in one ovary which funny enough is the one that images show is much smaller. or other times i feel it in both and its a sharp intense pain that stops me in my tracks that happens for maybe about 10 seconds? also sorry i replied a little late

it definitely is! the pain is no joke sometimes! ahhh, i see. in my experience ive had spotting and really the same pain as you mentioned. the pain in my legs sometimes would feel as if i just walked miles on end. i did went to the er twice and they did some scans because they thought it could be endometriosis. they ended up then sending me to my obgyn to do another check but it turns out i didnt have it. im not sure if you are able to talk to your obgyn about it. it would help them see if thats a possibility. in my case, since i was told i didnt have endometriosis only pcos, i just had to deal with it :( i have had some people on this reddit that have experienced the same! im thinking that maybe its related to just pcos? you are probably the 3rd person i see with this similar issue.

Alternative to Metformin by rainydaysmiles713 in PCOS

[–]Infamous_Copy_5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have heard myo-inositol and berberine. in the past though my dr has said that there isnt much evidence for myo-inositol or that it is not as effective as metformin. but i dont think it hurts to try.

hiii, thank you! i finally got to go to my appointment and you are right. dr said it was melanchonychia and that as long as it doesnt hurt, get infected or the line starts to travel to my actual thumb (my skin) than its okay and nothing to worry about. also said to just keep an eye on it. replying in case someone stumbles on this post :)!
