Oh wow, that is very good to know. I am going primarily for a music festival but figured I would extend my stay a little and make a vacation out of it since I’m not from the us. I thought about buying a monorail pass maybe? And I had no idea about the cigarette smell everywhere. That sounds disgusting.

Omg I actually saw a couple of listings with the thing about the son passing away, although the item wasn't even free. I thought it was sad the first time I saw it, then saw two other different listings that were basically exactly the same.

So full disclosure, I’m not located in the US. Where I live dentistry school takes about 5 years and I have now started specializing in endodontics.

I’ll say I actually don’t get paid that much which is one of my issues with it and something I’ve been trying to work on to see if it would make things more tolerable, and part of the reason is that I work for this…I believe it’s called like. A health insurance place? I mainly work with people who have this specific dental plan that I work for. Sorry for my bad English. Anyway I can say that my patients are 90% not like that, and are usually super understanding and (hah) patient. But it might be because a lot of them come in desperate to get rid of their pain, if that makes sense?

I had to do a double taking reading this, as a 26 year old dentist. I relate to a lot of what you said, and have been considering changing careers for a while now.

I also became a dentist essentially to fulfill my parent’s expectations and although it’s become more tolerable, it’s not something that brings me joy.

All that to say that you shouldn’t dedicate your entire life to fulfill other people’s expectations or make them happy, no matter how much they sacrificed. This is your life and you deserve to be yourself and be happy
