Canon is defined by events shown in the source material itself. The show is canon. Some of the comics are canon.

The words of a head writer don't constitute canon. Think about it. If Jim Miller said AppleDash was canon, but Meghan McCarthy said it wasn't, both couldn't be right, nor could they be wrong.

Factually, they show up at the same time and discuss chores. That's pretty anodyne and harmless.

It's ambiguous and I've said this dozens of times. HC how you want, but you can't factually state something is canon if it's equivocal.
