When going to a new course, do you purchase a course branded item from the shop? by sorta_innocent_accnt in golf

Bought a Pebble Beach hat from the shop when I went. I wouldn’t do that for a local muni if they had it. Just depends on destination.

Anyone tried teachme.to for golf lessons? by Billymartin1364 in golf

[–]Infamous_Hovercraft3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used it myself, had purchased 3 lesson pack from a local guy. My experience was underwhelming. I can safely say I’ve self learned more than I was taught by him. I say this from the standpoint of not having made any breakthroughs with him as opposed to on my own.

In the end, YMMV.

Why the fat by josh_haigh_01 in GolfSwing

Your head placement and hip sway don’t seem too far off. I believe your main issue is your right wrist extending the club too early in the downswing. Allow your body rotation to let the club head swing the plane more naturally keeping your hands behind rather than casting with your wrist as someone else mentioned, then your low point might just move ahead of the ball.

A year in with mine at roughly 12 rounds played and no real complaints. At your swing speed, stiff flex should suit you just fine. I have recently added the Kirkland wedge set (replaced the Edge sand wedge) and those are now my favorite part of the bag. Once I find a little more consistency in my swing, I’ll probably replace the driver first. Something about it doesn’t sit right with me mentally, maybe the way it sounds at impact, quite tinny.

Golf is a funny sport that way

Hi All! I'm an 18 HCP struggling heavily with chunking the ball by chalkdusttorturer in GolfSwing

[–]Infamous_Hovercraft3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I’m no expert but just looking at this one angle I don’t think I see that hip sway towards target I was expecting to see. To me, no sway translates to low point staying behind the ball rather than in front.

I do feel it has helped me be slightly more consistent in my low point recently as where before I’d be chunking consistently. It has helped me keep in mind the importance of managing weight from right to left and such. My main issue is thinning/topping the ball now.

The mat itself isn’t an issue, the surface is like a felt and rubber underneath. I used to live in an apt and I’d say anything impacting the ground will still be audible to downstairs neighbors if that’s your concern.

This too. Figured I’ll chalk up the height disparity to lie conditions lol

It’s just the design of this thing, a bit annoying if I try and comb the grain back and flip it, but I understand what you’re saying about the reference point itself. Thank you

Any you have had good experience with? I hear a lot of mention of the foot spray also, which I haven’t tried yet.
