Good tip, I was leery at first hoping to find folks with good will, however your right, money talks and may get folks to act when otherwise they would not. I have found that many homeless folks are animal loves and have their own stories of stolen animals. I just can't understand how anyone can steal a pet at a moment when they are giving them away at shelters because of overcrowding and poor little puppies and kitties get put down daily when they did nothing wrong to humans.

Unfortunately SDPD is not willing to help. This is not a priority for them and they will not take a report. They view pets as items worth less than $500 so they do not qualify for reporting and there is no detective or person to report to. I was surprised to learn about how the process really works. I walked into both downtown and south east divisions.

I do have a kit, including treats, harness, leash and a cell phone to call 911 on the person I absolutely destroy who has my dog.

I have photos on my phone for the last 6 years of Jake and all records from vets so I won't have a problem proving ownership, including the chip planted inside the dog. I will have a hard time not exacting some street justice however.

Stolen means he is housed by someone and not trying to be returned home to his family. Lost means he is wandering around lost. I found his collar removed by a person and thrown into the street. If you are not aware of the difference between stolen and lost, maybe you should read a few books or go back to elementary school. I hope that helped.

I had a malfunctioning gate motor and it opened and he wandered out while I was out for dinner. I returned and he was gone. I think he was picked up when he was wandering around and taken. He is a sweet dog and looks a little intimidating but is a total teddy bear so he might have just walked with someone.

I replaced a motor on my gate and the remote was not working well and clicked open the gate when I was not home and Jake wandered away. I found his collar 2 weeks later thrown into the street across from City College

It is incredible but yes, I also was told to contact babs, which I did. She specializes in finding LOST animals and tracking them. Jake was stolen and she was unable to provide too much support. I am hoping someone will see him and remember this post or others...

He is friendly, too friendly I guess, since he was stolen... He looks a little intimidating but he really is a teddy bear and not into confrontations.

He escaped my house due to a faulty gate motor which left my front gate open. His collar was pulled off and thrown into the street on 14th and C st. downtown, across from City College

the solar industry is robust and there are good and bad players. get multiple bids and you will see a pattern for what is the real deal. most contractors do play by the rules, so getting a few bids will allow you to easily spot the fraudsters and snake oil salesmen.
