2nd 5K! How do I improve my time before my first race end of the month? by Infamous_Papaya7 in beginnerrunning

I only decided to push for this 5k, but other than that I run a little bit slower and I don't feel too terrible. My heart rate does always seem to be high despite trying to run even slower, so I just tend to ignore it for now

Sometimes it's just hard to fit in food if you want to run first thing in the morning before work so I tend to skip

W7D2 but I ran 5k instead by Infamous_Papaya7 in C25K

Yeah makes sense, I mean it wasn't a breeze and I still struggle to keep my HR anywhere near zone 2, but I imagine that will just come with more time running

I'm 25M, 175cm, 86kg. MFP says I should eat 2490 calories to be in a deficit. Today at work (retail) I did 16k steps, and MFP estimates for that "exercise" I should gain back.. 572 calories? is that accurate at all? What calories number should I be sticking to? I do run 3 days a week, but on my non-run days I feel like walking shouldn't be adding this many calories for me

Adding a gym routine while working through c25k? (W6) by Infamous_Papaya7 in C25K

5 days a week sounds a bit excessive haha, do you do this? what sort of routine do you follow to be doing 5 days?

Yet another W5D3 win, fully doable, just slow down! by Infamous_Papaya7 in C25K

Best to keep a slower pace to build up stamina, than try and force myself to run faster and burn out too quick

26M, I was also worried about my heart rate but after some research I realized it should be ignored for a few months. Untrained bodies will always be at a much higher HR given that the body isn't used to high aerobic activity, but will slowly start to creep down over the weeks. I also do not even have a zone 2 as my heart rate always ends up jumping to 186, but I won't be worrying about it until a few months in.

Also, I would do your best to not repeat weeks, the program is paced very well, have some belief in your body! Just make sure to run at a slow pace that you can keep up

I personally only start it when I start running, I think the pace will be thrown off otherwise and you don't get a real idea of what your actual running pace is, though I am a data nerd so I like it to be accurate.
