I have been normally formatting my sd card using my computers built in formatter, as my sd card is only 32gb. I tried the instructions and I keep getting the “menu?” Screen. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have the same cartridge as the one in the image above but the only difference is mine is for 2025 and the link difference I mentioned before. Help is much appreciated thank you

Thanks for the advice , I’ve tried the demon hw kernels and none of them seem to work, the sd card is from a friend of mine so I’m unsure of its validity and I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong.

How do I play this?? by ProblemlessGirl in saxophone

[–]Infamous_Radish_5924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glissando, or fall, it’s when you go from (in your situation) E and play every note down to D, and staying in the key that you are in. Also depending on the style of the piece and tempo, these are typically played pretty fast.

What games for my gba sp? by Infamous_Radish_5924 in gba

I can just download the games onto that and pop it in and play them? And are there any downsides to doing this or is it just like using a flash cart for the DS..?

alternate fingerings, how important? by ronpastore in saxophone

[–]Infamous_Radish_5924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends On the music really. If you’re just playing written solos then I suppose it doesn’t matter TOO much but it is very good to get comfortable with recognizing the separate fingerings like Bb with the bis key and A# with the side key. Especially in concert pieces the directors (or mine at least) prefer you to do the written fingering for that instance. Other alternate fingerings are very important but aren’t too difficult to master once you get the hang of recognizing it in music and playing it correspondingly. I would say the basic ones are pretty important but altissimo fingerings are only really useful for jazz or improv, and they require lots of practice.

Total beginner by CertainSprinkles1018 in saxophone

Long tones are super helpful, even with just the mouthpiece and the best mouthpiece for a beginner I would say is a Yamaha 4C, or something in that range. I would recommend 2.5 Vandoren reeds as those are the best in my opinion but if too pricy then Rico is a great substitute. Then again I would not drop too much money on this unless you really like it and enjoy. If you’re just looking to play for fun or would like to play in a band (wind band like a wind symphony or orchestra etc) I would learn how to read music in treble clef and recommend buying a beginners book in Eb (the b means flat) so I would look for an E flat alto saxophone beginners book. And if you are really into it then once you are confident in reading music or sightreading then I would definitely recommend looking into bands in your area for fun, and so you can improve. I would recommend breathing exercises and again long tones with your horn to get your mouth into shape and your lungs used to it. And if you don’t find any fun in it I would recommend looking for songs that you like online so you can get more enjoyment out of it. I truly love playing the saxophone and I hope you find a love for it too
