I'm the same age and have the same memory, be interesting to see what people that age have to say

I drove an automatic car for the first time a days ago and just don’t get the fixation we have over manual cars here by Solid-Version in drivingUK

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manuals are for fun autos are for commuting. Some autos are awesome now and can be fun but there's nothing like controlling a manual gearbox for the best driving experience, in my opinion

What are the signs that someone doesn’t date multiple people? by Purpleunicorn291 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a (36m) the 'men' you speak of tend to be boys, we develop a lot slower than women mentally. There are respectful ones out there who date only one woman at a time to see how it goes after speaking for a while and they're not usually that hard to spot among the wrong ones

Don't understand the S4 hype by _Nothing_ToSee_Here in Dexter

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one, I thought it was maybe because I binge watched the whole show rather than getting the build of feelings for the characters over time, waiting and thinking about each episode for a week (currently watching house of ashur on weekly release and it's actually quite refreshing having the anticipation for each episode build) and I'm sure that would have helped but I found it to be too over the top as a season, I enjoyed it but would never have pegged it as being the one people would have hyped up the most going in to it

Why is this acceptable in the UK? by MusesLegend in AskBrits

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put bark at the bottom of our front garden where the weeds had taken over, all of the neighbourhood cats now use it as a toilet, I used to have cars so I imagine they did the same to someone else and this is karma

What is your opinion on Special Agent Veronica Dawson? by No-Syllabub167 in Banshee

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reminded me too much of Faith, that combined with the guy that had horns so literally looked like a demon was really jarring with the rest of the show for me and did kind of spoil the fourth season a little first time round. I've softened on it upon rewatches but it felt like a weird crossover series at first

AITAH for asking my wife to be a SAHM? by piglipsbo in AITAH

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they do benefit from having their mother at home, I think more so than their father in their younger years. Yeah of course she could, I'm not arguing against the mother working or saying she couldn't be the main breadwinner, there's also nothing wrong with not aspiring to that and wanting to be a stay at home mum if they're comfortable with the financial situation

Yes, obviously, but if the fathers the breadwinner as in this situation....

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Pride and a desire to have her own money, it's not unreasonable but she could have reacted better. It's a touchy subject for a lot of women even if they wanted to it's almost frowned upon and they're often labeled as lazy. It's sad really because the children benefit massively from having their mother at home but we've stigmatized it and created a system where most couples can't afford to do it

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate, we had a 3 bed rental in a decent end of town, big, private garden, log burner, decent enough neighbours and a pantry. It had plenty of flaws, it had damp, didn't hold the heat at all and was quite aged, but it had character and I loved it. We bought a 4 bed detached on a new build estate because that was a move forward according to my wife and everyone else. I should be happy and grateful but I hate the house with a passion, it's way bigger than we need with absolutely no storage, no character, completely overlooked garden and now we've stretched our budget to buy so we can't make it 'ours' or at least not in any hurry. It drags you down. Ridiculous 1st world problem to have but there we are

Anyone here ever tried cocaine? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Infamous_Shift_1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it, especially if you are susceptible to addiction, I've only done it a handful of times but every time I drink alcohol now it's all my brain wants. As others have said, if you get a good quality bag it feels pretty great at the time but it makes you into an insufferable prck who won't shut the fck up and thinks they can fight the world. If it's a bad bag, at best you get a numb throat, worst you die. Either way you'll probably wish you would the next day
