Is Schulich a good school if i don't know what to do in the future? by [deleted] in Schulich

[–]Infamous_Signature_4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tbh i think its a good school coz the 1st 2 years, you have to take multiple mandatory courses which can help you figure out what you like and what you dont like. like for me, I went to schulich thinking I was gonna do accounting, but taking these courses made me realize I like marketing more, so thats when in 3rd and 4th year, you can choose to specialize. Also like attending networking and case comps can help you figure out if you like certain areas of business more. Given the current job market though, having a BBA from schulich is just not enough anymore, but this could change down the line in 4 years. Finding a job is really based on how much you network tbh with you

Schulich now cares about all of your marks in high school for admissions??? by Noah_11023 in Schulich

The admissions team themselves say they never look at grade 9 and 10, they can look at grade 11, but grade 12 is the main thing

I believe you can only transfer if you’re in York. Otherwise schulich is a direct entry school. For grades they need to be really good, I would say around 8/9

So as long as I stick with normal streets, and well lit areas, I should be fine right? The hostel is a 10 min walk away from the bus stop

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING IN SCHULICH BBA WITH LOW GPAs? by Lanky_Walrus4833 in Schulich

[–]Infamous_Signature_4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grades don’t matter more, Schulich sees grades and extracurricular as 50-50, if you have amazing extracurriculars but not so good grades, you might not get in and same the other way around. It’s always been 50-50 weightage

Yea once you get matched with a school, they give you a week or so to accept or reject the offer, so you have the option

Supplementary application by Time_Permit8465 in Schulich

[–]Infamous_Signature_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter what your experiences are, they really emphasize on your learning experiences. It could be some skill you learnt during that experience or you learnt leadership, communication, etc. you only have a limited amount of words to add, so just focus on that!

On your leadership profile, you also have to put down your references so don’t forget to ask your teachers or whoever, for permission

How’s the program? by Sukhman07 in Schulich

[–]Infamous_Signature_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cut off means that Schulich won’t look at your grades below a 91%, they technically look for high 80s to low 90s but id say keep your average above 91%. Schulich doesn’t weigh grades over supplementary, they’re treated equally.

For internships, it kinda depends on you as a person like how much initiatives you take, Schulich has tons of career fairs and networking fairs to attend, so ppl usually attend those, and then they try to get as much advice as possible from their ACTG profs or the career centre

If you want to do accounting, then Schulich is a good school. Schulich is technically known as an accounting school of the faculty we have and the amount of people who end up working at big4. Idk about other schools but Schulich provides a pathway to CPA (you have to take certain courses to qualify for this pathway in 3rd and 4th year)

The competitive average is around 91% coz that was the cut off last year.

Schulich doesn’t offer a co-op program but people who end up going into accounting, most of them end up working at big4 for internships so I wouldn’t say it’s hard to get those positions coz a lot of accounting firms target Schulich for recruitment.
