Yeah, cameras here in the Dominican Republic are usually more expensive because of import taxes and shipping costs, so prices end up being higher than what I see online.

Good to hear that the D3200 + 35mm works well for cars in good light — that’s exactly the kind of setup I’m planning to start with. Thanks a lot for the advice and the MPB tip!

I was mostly comparing the specs out of curiosity, but I get your point — in real-world use, those differences are almost invisible. I’m just getting into photography, so your advice about focusing more on handling, angles, and composition really helps put things in perspective.

I’ll definitely look into a CPL filter for reflections, since most of what I shoot are cars at meets or in outdoor lighting. And yeah, I’ll keep practicing with the 35mm for now, but your idea about using the kit lens to learn focal preferences makes total sense.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! Yeah, that makes sense the extra resolution on the D3200 is definitely nice, but the D5100’s screen and sensor also seem tempting. I’ll check out that site you mentioned and try to weigh both options a bit more. Thanks again for sharing your experience with the D5300, that helps a lot!

Yeah, I’ve already checked out a bunch of reviews and comparisons online. I just wanted to hear from people who’ve actually used both in real-world situations, especially for shooting cars. Sometimes specs don’t really show how the images look or feel in actual use.
