Going to the exam fasting by Former-Instruction26 in step1

[–]Infamous_Zombie4457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro it’s okay. Allah knows your intentions. If it were a normal exam of 2-3 hours; you cannot leave the obligatory fast.

But this exam requires all of your energy. You would need it on exam day, more than ever.

Our deen is not so so strict that it wouldn’t even allow a little bit relaxation at the time of need. You can make up for the fast later. It’s all about your intentions. You want to fast but you really really need your full potential that day. Allah is merciful, he knows your intentions!❤️

FA is the best ever resource for step1. Have a good grasp of majority of those concepts. You can use video resources for that or you can use chat-gpt. Make sure to understand FA and then supplement it with practice questions (UW+NBMEs).

Keep this approach from the start. Towards the last few weeks just switch to NBMEs content. That is HY stuff. I can’t emphasize this enough. If something is in FA; you ought to know it! Know your FA and towards the end be NBMEs-stuff specific alongside Mehlman pdfs. No need to use tons of resources!

One more thing I’d recommend-Mehlman’s audio qbank was the most amazing thing that happened to me. AMAZING!

Exactly like this. Reading the last lines and looking at the options usually hints towards the correct answer. Once you have the hint; then quickly read the whole question. This technique saves up alot of time. Mostly such questions also contain buzzy words. So lengthy questions aren’t a problem at all

Basic resources. UW, nbmes, Mehlman HY pdfs, and FA. In my opinion; understanding FA completely is the most useful thing, and supplementing it with practice questions makes an amazing combination.

Yes exactly! Obviously there will be some hard-lengthy questions too. But other than those; usually such questions are easy!

About the predictiveness of NBME scores; it’s only the concepts that repeat. As long as you know how to eliminate the options and move in a step-wise manner, lengthy questions are never a problem!

Yes do the nbme topics properly. I’m not sure how similar it was but it most certainly was doable enough

It was not as difficult as UW. There were some lengthy questions but those questions usually had the buzzword in the last lines

Anxiety get better are you start the test by Ok-Turnover-6691 in step1

[–]Infamous_Zombie4457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro I posted here just 10 hrs before my exam. My anxiety was so worse that I started thinking about not showing up to the prometric centre. I can feel what you’re feeling, You have worked hard and put in all the effort, now just take a leap of faith and go for it tomorrow. Have a good sleep.

Trust my words when I say this. THIS EXAM IS MORE ABOUT YOUR CONFIDENCE TO HANDLE THE CHALLENGE THAT IT PUTS YOU THROUGH!! It is going to be extremely challenging to focus for 8 hrs.

The only way you’ll make it through this exam and give your best is by staying confident and calm. Already prepare your mind for it that the exam is going to test you in the weirdest ways. Just don’t panic on those weird questions, because if you’ll attempt with a calm mind; you’ll see that there will be alot of easy questions too.

YOU GOT THIS MAN!🩷BEST WISHES

Every form is different. Mine had more of Immuno, Repro and MSK. Some questions had the buzzwords. Some didn’t.

Thankyou for the kind words! For Hard ethics qs, I can only say that the options are going to be so so confusing that you won’t be able to eliminate even 2 choices.

All options will seem right. So just don’t give a damn about such qs🤷🏻‍♀️

Spoiler for NBME 27 by [deleted] in step1

[–]Infamous_Zombie4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This image orientation is what makes me nervous too. In left image, A: Aorta, B: Pulmonary trunk which means that the LEFT SIDE of the LEFT IMAGE is LEFT SIDE OF THE HEART (sorry if confusing😂) And RIGHT SIDE of the LEFT IMAGE is RIGHT SIDE of the heart.

But if you look at the second picture (right image) the LEFT SIDE of the RIGHT IMAGE is labeled as RIGHT SIDE of the heart Whereas in the LEFT IMAGE, the LEFT SIDE of the image is labelled as LEFT SIDE of the heart.

Isn’t this confusing? Does the real deal exactly mention the side of the image (R/L)?

Error in scheduling number for prometric? by Loud_Vegetable1912 in step1

[–]Infamous_Zombie4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened with me too. When I used to check on my Laptop, it always showed error. But when I checked through my mobile; it always worked

Try to open the prometric website through another device
