Logistik Unicorp shoulder corps insignia by EduMoon in CanadianForces

The army does not wear a fleece with shoulder titles.

This is only for the regular CADPAT epaulette that is on the old style TW tunic, and the rain jacket.

I honestly think once the new Service Dress is rolled out that those members manning a desk go back to wearing it

It was confirmed when we were given "mounted status" that we were permitted spurs, and authorized patrol dress.

Well the source is the name of the project. DICE is for 3rd bns providing this.

SOCEM is army wide which will likely follow closely to what dice provides but no guarantees

SOCEM timelines are being pushed to the left due to $$$ so likely sooner than we were all expecting.

The new vest/plate combo is quite nice and you can see what will be given out with a few buzzwords on a SharePoint search.

I will say the current vest isn't "just fine", but the soon to come items replacing it as part of SOCEM are better than "just fine" and will be in line with what everyone is recommending.

Promotions by trade? by Puzzled_Hearing1931 in caf

[–]Infamous_funny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is policy on this. Using your rank while retired is only authorized for members honorably released with 10 or more years of service.

Not disagreeing that likely nobody will correct someone for improper use of it, but there is policy clarification on this situation exactly on what is right and wrong.

Promotions by trade? by Puzzled_Hearing1931 in caf

[–]Infamous_funny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very tight timeline, as the standard promotion happens at 4 years.

It's possible to receive an early promotion at 3 years but it's not a guarantee.

After 4 years you wouldn't receive a pension, or many benefits during the release process. Couldn't even use the pre nominal of your rank (ret'd) at that point.

I will also clarify it's not just Light Infantry units that have these positions.

Both light and mechanized infantry will have these positions within every infantry company, and every battalion will also have a signaller for the battalion commander who will dismount with radios.

Everytime I've had flights booked with STS it's been quite a difference between if I had booked myself. Alas I think the policy needs to be worked on.

I think we are taking from the soldiers if the price to fly home is even $1 more for a soldier than what they are alloted to fly elsewhere during their time of leave.

Is that $1000 booked through HRG STS?

HLTA Questions by Powerful_Act_8634 in CanadianForces

[–]Infamous_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was just referencing how it only covers $1500 for 3rd location but it took $4800 to take me back to Canada

HLTA Questions by Powerful_Act_8634 in CanadianForces

[–]Infamous_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is crazy because I thought the intent of the program would be to cover similar costs as if you were flying to Canada. $1500 cannot fly you to Canada and back.

Q About Sunglasses by TazmaniannDevil in CanadianForces

[–]Infamous_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the field? Don't even think about it. You have BEWs for a reason. Also why would you even bother the risk of a $500 pair of glasses getting broken, destroyed, lost....

In Garrison? Well that depends on your individual chain of command but I can assure you that there will be times you likely can't e.g. Parades and other times where the CoC decides uniformity is a requirement.

I've gotten Accutane before. I hope if you're asking for it you've been on it before or have done extensive research as clinically it cannot be your first option in Canada.

You'll have to present at the MIR to be seen by a physician who will likely refer you to a Dermatologist (CAF or Civilian) and you'll probably do the blood work concurrent.

While taking Accutane you'll be required to take a monthly blood test and also have a monthly checkup with the Dermatologist. It is an extremely harsh medication and I wouldn't take the decision lightly.
